Berghouse and Cottages, hotel in Langkloof

Berghouse and Cottages is located in a rural setting, high up in the Northern Drakensberg Hills, 19 mi from Bergville. Free WiFi is available in each cottage.

The location for the cottages was amazing. The view is breathtaking. Comfy beds. Tasty food. We brought our own Braai materials for one night and also sampled their in house prepared breakfast, all excellent. Braai facilities are great and kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Great activities including swimming in a pool with one of the best vistas you could hope for worldwide. We also enjoyed horseback riding. Only a 25 min drive to Royal Natal Park where is was easy to do an afternoon hike to the Cascades and back. Just an outstanding stay :)

Greenfire Drakensberg Lodge, hotel in Langkloof

Featuring a bar, Greenfire Drakensberg Lodge is located in Kruisfontein. The property is solar powered and offers Canadian-style log cabins.

The scenery is really something else. You are already quite remote in this part of ZA but once they bring you up with the 4x4 the only people you will encounter are those on the premise itself. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. All in all great value and a very relaxing place with great views and hikes!

Very kid friendly resort with many activities for the little ones. About a 30-minute drive from Royal Natal Park. Very good value for money, decent size, clean chalet with pretty much all amenities (fully equipped kitchen and a braai area outside) The restaurant food was also tasty and really good value for money.

The resort itself was amazing, no need to actually drive anywhere else. Although Tevreden Cheese Farm and Tower of Pizza was absolutely beautiful gem of places to eat at. Not to far off for the adrenalin seekers is All Out Adventures.

For me the best part was the excursions to the Royal Natal Park and then coming back to relax in the heated pool. I definitely appreciated the size of the unit - we were six and it never felt overcrowded. Plenty to do at the resort for young and old. Just a bit far from the mountains and one can't hike from the resort.

The recreation facilities and their upkeep were excellent.

The recreation facilities and their upkeep were excellent. The living conditions left much to be desired. Beds poor as were the state of cupboards and the doors. To find ants in the kitchen cupboards on check in was not pleasant. Simple things like dishcloths, sponges and small quantities of dish washing liquid are a must. You should state quite categorically that you do not provide swimming towels.
