We loved the room and the location. The beds were very comfy, and there were no disturbances from other rooms. The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was also spotless. We had a great view overlooking the lake, which was amazing. Check-in was also perfect. We had a hassle-free stay.

The location is perfect. This is the 2nd time I am visiting this pension, I felt the big change happened due to major renovation. Of course the free car park was an advantage also in Hallstatt. Living History isn't just a place to stay. It's an experience. How many people can say they've stayed in a medieval mill with an entrance to an ancient salt mine in their bathroom? Everything about this place is magical, and every detail is steeped in history. Even the key to the front door is from the 16th century. The location can't be beat as the apartment is just off the town square where the ferry docks. Lorenzo is such a kind host. He met us in the square and gave us a wonderful tour of the apartment, sharing tidbits and stories about the history behind its walls. The floors in the apartment are heated, as well, which was greatly appreciated during our winter stay. If you're in Hallstatt for a night, don't miss out on this unique adventure!
