I love Campbell River mainly because our daughter and our granddaughter live there but also because it is a beautiful location and close to Quadra Island where we have spent many holidays at the First Nations campsite at Rebecca Spit.

Had a fantastic stay at Campbell River.

Had a fantastic stay at Campbell River. Our room was huge with a large balcony overlooking the sea. Beautiful timber ceiling. Loved watching whales, otters, geese and seagulls whilst we ate breakfast, sipped on drinks at the bar or over dinner. Beautiful property. So peaceful. Drove to Gold River. Amazing road with beautiful scenery. This is real wilderness. We just loved this area

    Nice place for a staycation.

Nice place for a staycation. Went for a performance at the local theatre. Stayed one night. Easy to get lost, very spread out. But scenic, hills and lots of trees. Nice waterfront shopping area. Tried Potstickers, very tasty.

must admit have difficult time reach beach in quite a number of areas but a very lovely town to visit. the one evening had an excellent dinner at Moxies and the service was excellent. also had a really good fish and chip dinner across from the docks ( sorry can't remember name but if you ask around they come highly recommended!) Any of the businesses (be clerks or owners) were so friendly and helpful. Most appreciated! A real must is a visit to the museum found it was truly interesting due to the focus on Native art and history of Campbell River

Oceanside atmosphere, lots of piers, marinas etc.

Oceanside atmosphere, lots of piers, marinas etc. Obviously a major destination for fishers, anglers, boaters. Spectacular parks and waterfalls within easy driving distance - Strathcona Park (mountains, hiking, camping) 50 km away.

Love the Ocean, walking along the beach picking driftwood.

Love the Ocean, walking along the beach picking driftwood. Really liked the warfs with all the boats. Ate at Doc side Fish & Chips but wasn't very good. Bought a Hamburger & Onion Rings at Ripside Pub for $28 & it was burnt & Onion Rings.overcooked & Hard. Tried Pita Pit & it was awesome. I would not stay at my previous place & avoid some bad restaurant food. Yes it's easy to get around town.

We had a wonderful stay in Campbell River with Lorrie. From the moment we arrived, Lorrie and her dogs made us feel right at home. Her place was very clean - shoes off at the door, sanitizer in shared spaces, and surfaces thoroughly cleaned. The large, delicious, and varied breakfasts fuelled our daily adventures, and it was great to share stories with Lorrie and the other guests each morning. We loved the generous amount of storage space in the room and the comfiness of the bed. We recommend staying here and hope to come back again!

Considering I had surgery in the morning at the CRH, this location is perfect. 5 minute drive to get to the hospital. We have stayed at this hotel every single time we come down. It’s our favourite. I loved the Beach across the street and the view from our balcony of the ocean was stunning; what better way to wake up in the morning and see the sunrise over the water. I highly recommend this hotel and will continue to stay here any time I am in Campbell River. Absolutely love the staff members!

Campbell River as a destination has a lot to offer (hiking, fishing, boating, wildlife viewing), and Painters Lodge is the place to stay when you are there! The room is basic, but comfortable and clean. The main dining room was not open when we were there (I believe due to staff shortages), so we ate in the pub a couple of times (food was great). Also, the pool was not open yet due to re-tiling, but we would not have had time to use it anyway (too many other things to do in the area).

Very affordable, enjoyed the sliding glass door to the deck, you can hear the ocean crashing on the shore even of you can't see it. The wifi, while not great, was better than some other hotels I've stayed in. It was nice having underground secure parking. They provide you with local, all natural, bath products. I also noticed that I didn't hear the other guests in their rooms which was quite nice. Tons of lighting in the room.

lady in Reception (owner?) was great - clearly really loves Campbell River area, gave recommendations for nearby locations, places to eat, visiting Strathcona Park, salmon hatchery etc - all of which were as good as she said, really made our stay. Rooms (our was on groundfloor, one of the cheaper ones) are basic but very clean and comfortable, view across the strait (esp when misty) was memorable

The inn was fine but we were delayed at checkin for nearly 2 hours as they had NO record of reservation for our room or our friends room, (res made separately by them).! Hotel staff had no rooms and called lots of guests to find two rooms that were reserved but people were not going to show up. HUGE HASSLE, MISSED DINNER, WONT WANT TO USE BOOKING. COM AGAIN. Lovely location. The food at the patio was very good but the weather was not good so made eating outside a problem, on a sunny evening it would be great. The restaurants in the hotel were all closed for renovation, had hoped one would be available.

Wonderful location on the Campbell River! We were delighted to have arrived just in time to see the Pink Salmon run right in front of our balcony view. Our 2-bedroom/bathroom suite was well appointed and very comfortable. Full kitchen. Very clean!

The hotel is an old fishing lodge. The location on the river is excellent for fishing. We saw other guests fishing in the river. It’s a quaint, old, sprawling, rustic building with log walls and ceiling.
