I had to go to hospital as I was covered in bed bug bites. I stayed in room 30. The doctor said it was the worst case he has ever see. I feel violated, I had to spend over two hundred dollars on medication.

Good location. We had to arrive very late which was ok. To our surprise we were upgraded to a superior room at no extra cost -- and it included a hot tub!

Check in was friendly and efficient, the room was very clean and comfortable and the coffee, wifi and shower were all excellent. We definitely plan to return the next time we stay over in Duncan. In past years we have stayed in more expensive places which were no where near as nice.
This all-suite hotel overlooks Cowichan Bay and suites with a kitchenette. It is 13 km from the British Columbia Forest Discovery Center.

Excellent view, we saw seals from our room and there is a nice restaurant on site. The bathroom was quite nice and the kitchen area is equipped enough for a simple meal which you might need to use if you are there on a Monday or Tuesday as most shops and restaurants are closed, On-site restaurant was closed on Monday too.
Located halfway between Victoria and Nanaimo, a balcony and private entrance is offered from every guest room at this Cowichan Bay Inn. Free WiFi access is provided.

Such a gorgeous estate. Brad was the most helpful and kind host. We only stayed one night but I wish it had been longer.

Duncan is best experienced outside of town for trails lakes and nature in general. Try an AirBnb. There are a few within 20 minutes or so from town in beautiful settings. To Eat, go to Romeo's. I had one of the award winning pizzas, and it didn't disappoint

Sadly, this town seems quite depressed, with little that was visually appealing, and many homeless folks wandering the streets. Seems to be a good jumping point, to get fuelled up, get groceries, do laundry etc, before continuing to stay elsewhere.

The Cowichan Valley region (incl.
The Cowichan Valley region (incl. Duncan, Cowichan Bay, Cowichan Lake, Chemainus, Ladysmith.) has restored, sweet, old towns with plenty of outdoor informative signs, images, murals about local history, walking, cycling and equestrian trails to renovated trestle bridges (Kinsol Trestle is the biggest and most impressive one), the best river tubing in the pristine water of the Cowichan river, clean lakes with nice beaches for swimming, ecotourism with wineries, cideries, distilleries and breweries, all in beautiful settings. Don't miss the Hand of Man museum in Mill's Bay. Easily explored within 4 days with a car. All the municipalities are easily explored on foot. We were never disappointed with the food either and they have gluten free options everywhere on the menus.

I know Duncan well as I was born here.
I know Duncan well as I was born here. I came to town to attend a concert. I took advantage of the great shopping. I enjoyed dinner at Mr Mike’s prior to the show. Lots of restaurants within walking distance from the theatre and also the hotel.

This hotel is old, run down, and downright scary.
This hotel is old, run down, and downright scary. My husband refused to get out of the car! The "guests" who happened to be outside were standing in huddles that appeared more like a drug deal going in. One women was outside her room in saying only a towel. Rooms were full of stale cigarette smoke. Do not book a room here. My only saving grace was that the manager told me the room hasn't been charged yet.

We've been there many times.
We've been there many times. Small quaint town; lots of restaurants, shopping and a casino for those who like that (not me), lots of totem poles. We are there every summer to attend the Cowichan Folk Music Festival, which was the reason for this trip as well. Easy to get to by car/bus as the main highway runs right through it; could get there by boat as well. By air would most likely be via Nanaimo or Victoria and then an hour drive either way to Duncan. Outdor music performances every night in July in town.
This is a motel on the highway going through Duncan and cost less than others, so the location was the first draw. It is surrounded by restaurants, easy for meals. As I was there in the middle of a heat wave the pool was a huge bonus. Cleanliness was good, no complaints. A bit noisy due to highway but not unexpected. There was no air conditioning, but the motel was surrounded by trees and a high fence, and the staff supplied a fan, I took advantage of an evening swim too!
What a pleasant surprise to stay in this nice hotel. Although we were only there for one night, we were very happy with our room, which appeared to be recently renovated. The bed was comfortable and we were happy to have two chairs to sit at the little table. Usually, it seems there is only one chair in many hotel rooms. Even though the hotel is right on the highway, it was quiet inside.
The b&b is in the outskirts of Duncan, near the sea, in a calm and green area (as a bonus there were 3 deers in the garden!); the hosts are wonderfull and wellcoming and the homemade breakfast was amazing. The room was spotlessly clean and parking was easy on the yard in front of the house (spacious enough even for the large vehicle we had been given).
We liked nothing. This is the most disgusting hotel, I have ever stayed in the cost was $142.00 for 1 night..
Stink bugs all over the room on the ceiling, windows and walls. Dirty, cigarette butts and garbage under the bed. Even a used toilet paper still on the roll..You enter the building there is also rodent traps.
Everything was great! Over and above our expectations. It was within walking distance from the person we were visiting. It was also easy for us to find our way around Duncan. Loved the extra space compared to a hotel room. Will highly recommend to anyone going to the area.
Tim’s attached to home guesthouse is top notch! Everything in this guest house is new including the appliances….. Tim made us feel welcome and the added touches he provided made our stay 5 stars! You’ll have to check them out for yourself if you decide to stay in Duncan!
It was close to restaurants and easy access. Front desk person Kerry was very accommodating after misunderstanding the room type when booked through Booking.com. Very nice diner on corner of property with great breakfast and lunch as they are not open for dinner.
Great place and my parents stayed at this hotel in the 1980'sand were so happy staying at the thunderbird I had to try it myself and totally agree. Very nice and couldn't be happier and trying to book another night for Monday night.
The unit was comfortable.. it had a fully equipped kitchen. The neighborhood was quiet and was easy access to transit. Could easily walk to most things in Duncan. It is an older building but clean
great location! nice view! Easy access with a touchscreen lock. The apartment had everything we needed during our stay. Very clean and comfortable! we had a fabulous stay! nice and quit!
beautiful views, lovely garden setting, beautifully decorated, clean and functional room. shared kitchen was nice for making teas and putting stuff in shared fridge. lovely owners.
Very big, nice renovated townhouse. Two bedrooms, 2 and half bathrooms makes the stay very comfortable. It also has washer and dryer. Check in/out instructions was clear.
This hotel has always been great whenever we stay there. The staff is very friendly and although the hotel is older, it has been renovated and is very clean
