The deers running on the surrounding grounds, the landscape, and the surrounding nature can evoke a surreal experience, as much as the haunting details of mounted animals, taxidermy, old dolls in cribs. Picturesque location, close proximity to Rothenburg approximately 14 minute drive. It was a good atmosphere in the hotel. The staff were attentive, helpful and accommodating. The staff spoke good English. We ate dinner at the restaurant, it was good value for money. Breakfast was an additional cost and a buffet, it has a good selection of food. Too bad we could not explore the tower, but the facilities and the chapel are spectacular. Some of the staff were very helpful, a few were a bit rude and put out. One thing they don't really talk about in the history of the hotel is the WWII period. It was used by a high official to store a massive amount of looted Russian religious art. Restaurant was very good and the winter garden has lovely views.

We got a 2 bedroom apartment for £100 with breakfast, absolute bargain. At night the place was absolutely packed with people coming for dinner, it has about 100 tables inside and outside, the food was nice and not expensive. All and all you couldn't ask for more for the price paid.
