I like the location (close to the castle and hiking routes) and ability to enjoy patio area. Possibility of using a bath after long hike - priceless :)
Preciosa casa de pueblo con vistas y patio is located in Jimena de la Frontera, just 24 miles from La Duquesa Golf Club and 20 miles from San Roque Golf Course.
The town was very tranquil and pleasant. Our aim was to visit Castillo de Castallar which was easily reached. We enjoyed pollo asado from a stand by the plaza and the well stocked grocery store below the house had everything we needed. We found free parking right in front of the house, but then realized that the exit route was narrow and very pitched. After, we just left the car in the public space at the town entrace and walked up.

Jimena de la Frontera is a great place to visit, bars, restaurants and great views from all over the village. It is very well located for a visit to the coast (Estepona, Malaga, Cadiz or Soto Grande), or inland to Ronda, Gaucin or Jerez. Sevilla and Cordoba also possible but Jimena is a place you don't need to leave either. Many great walks right from Jimena and a great place to relax and have a holiday.

Pretty pueblo blanco with a good interesting FREE castle.
Pretty pueblo blanco with a good interesting FREE castle. Nice narrow cobbled streets. Bars and a municipal swimming pool. Excellent scenery around. Plenty of Brits; if you like that kind of thing! Good for a day or two.
If you’re a birdwatcher: Egyptian and Griffon Vultures, Black Kite, Booted Eagle and Lesser Kestrel over/from the castle/village.

Jimena de la Frontera I found to be a lovely well preserved village. It has a busy living atmosphere and some restaurants serving good food. The castle is great to visit and the views outstanding. We also found a walk which follows the course of the river and in addition to the wonderful views, birds and nature it has interesting old military works left from a mining era. It's a linear walk of about 3 kilometres ending up at the village again.

It was just a "stop and go" visit.
It was just a "stop and go" visit. In most of this hilly little villages, thre are not many things to do... Castles and ruins often are hard to reach by car, these villages have very narrow streets and parking places are scarce...

A delicious breakfast in a nice setting!
A delicious breakfast in a nice setting! After a big walk, it was nice to rest at one of the swimming pools and in the beautiful garden. We received good information from the host. Good starting point for walks in the neighbourhood and a visit to Gibraltar.
Great food in Bar Perez

Very large room, enormous and comfortable bed, stunning views. Dinner in restaurant was good. We arrived on e-bikes (very steep road up to hotel) and were able to charge them in the lobby
If you need to chill for a few days this is the place. Karl and Barbara are wonderful hosts looking after your every need. Walking, horse riding, cycling all possible from the hotel.
We love this hotel.
