Pontevedra is a must on anyone's list visiting the north of Spain. I have fallen in love with the town and will definitely be back when I can. It is clean and has an old town charm about it and very easy to get around. Loads of history and also enough to keep you busy on an evening for a night filled with tapas and wine. Also, best churros I have ever had.

The people in Pontevedra were lovely.
The people in Pontevedra were lovely. Very friendly & helpful. Food & drink were value for money & always good quality. It feels very ‘Spanish’ & not too touristy. Totally recommend for a mainland stay.

Pontevedra is a very pretty city.
Pontevedra is a very pretty city. The old town area is large and stylish and has all the tourist needs like amazing food and drink places, accommodation, markets and shops and it's been fully pedestrianised. Also is surrounded by amazing beaches and trekking paths.

Pontevedra has a charming old city center, with its two-storied houses and its porticoes. As a pilgrim, I recommend a visit to the cathedral and to the monastery complex, and a casual stroll about the streets. Though I know there is much more to see and to do in Pontevedra besides passing by. There are restaurants for every taste, ranging from fast food and pizzas to the local gastronomy, which is very rich and tasty - the fish and the octopus. If there is one thing I really didn't like (at all), it was the bus station, which looks abandoned. If you must travel by bus, you'd better go directly to the bus parking place and try to find someone to talk to over there - or ask a bus driver.

Pontevedra (and surrounding areas) is a must to visit. The food is great, the atmosphere is relaxed - so a great place to go if you want to get away. It has history, culture and the walk along the river is priceless (either for sport or just to relax). The people are great too. Pontevedra is a great city to walk in (you can tell there's been a big push for pedestrians in preference to cars!)

Great city to visit, well of the tourist trail.
Great city to visit, well of the tourist trail. Lots of bars & restaurants, especially in the old city. Did a trip to the Atlantic coast which was well worth the effort. Stunning views out to the islands.
The hotel is excellent -- mid-sized, nice rooms, very good service from check-in staff, bar staff, and housekeepers. The location is a "two-edged sword," however. I loved being in the historic heart of Pontevedra; it's a lovely city to explore. There are wonderful shops, cafes, restaurants and architecture within a short walk. And if you need modern shops the newer section of town is a short walk along the newly pedestrianized street. Had it not been for the noise (see below) I'd rate this hotel a ten. A perfect stay. But ...
The apartment was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had everything we needed and the owner Maria Jose left us an ample supply of bread, milk, etc which meant we didn't need to go shopping on arrival. The rooms were large and there was a big outdoor terrace. We would come back if we are in Pontevedra again and recommend this apartment to friends and family.
Everything. The hostel had a good location, was exceptionally clean and the standard more of a hotel than a hostel. Some great extras, such as laundry and breakfast too. If you are going to Pontevedra, you can't do better than stay here. Gracias a Julio por todos sus esfuerzos - y dále las gracias a tu madre también!
The staff, hands down! Carlos, Ana. Simone. Made us feel at home. Served wonderful meals, arranged a taxi, saw to all our needs. The hotel is relatively remote in location - but that was its strength. Beautiful views. Quiet, peaceful, we had the best sleep. Rooms (bed, shower, outlets) were comfortable.
This place was amazingly clean and the staff super helpful with everything I needed to get started on the Camino. The bed was lovely and comfortable. The view from my little balcony was nice and everyone was great. I would recommend this hotel it’s value for money and a great choice.
This hostel felt more like a hotel. It was spotless!! Breakfast and the use of washer/dryer were free. Easy to return to the Camino. Julio, the owner was amazing. He used WhatsApp very effectively to communicate, give directions, and restaurant recommendations.
Perfect place for pilgrims on the Camino! The hostel's infrastructure is excellent, and its location is ideal. Pontevedra is a charming city, and the hostel is very close to the old town, where you can find lovely restaurants and cafés.
This was a convenient hotel right on the Camino and to the sites of this neat town. The sweet gal at the desk provided us with cold water when we arrived. Everything was fresh and clean and my request for an inside room was honored.
The hotel is located just a couple of minutes from the old town. Our room was comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking the town. This is a clean, comfortable fairly corporate hotel which made a good base for exploring Pontevedra.
Boa Vila is bang on the Camino de Santiago which is great if you're walking it (we were). Although I found the room a little pricy in comparison with other accommodation in this part of Spain, it was clean and comfortable.
Live like a local! Lovely duplex apartment with all of the creature comforts a family could need to have a wonderful stay in Pontevedra. Clean, lovingly decorated and well located flat in the heart of town.
it was a decent hotel and at the end of a LONG day of walking the Camino de Santiago it was great to relax in a good tub. Our floor had elevator access which was good.
