Lovely old riverside town, a hidden gem.
Lovely old riverside town, a hidden gem. Beautiful and well preserved buildings, but not too chi-chi. It seems to have escaped the ravages of too much tourism. The only disappointment was the limited selection of restaurants.

The host was extremely helpful and thoughtful, the room was lovely and the hotel grounds and views are exceptional. This is a really picturesque village with everything you would need, and the hotel is situated by a beautiful bit of the river. The garden and pool are are beautiful, the room had everything you would need. We had a lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back! It's also very easy to get to by public transport, which was a plus for us.

We were pleased to find cold water in our room when we arrived. We did not eat at the hotel until our final morning breakfast. It was very good and plenty of it. Going to breakfast took us into the dining rooms for the first time. They were beautifully furnished and very clean. There is a small pool available which was marvellous in the heat.

The room had been kept cool with closed shutters and the windows open but as the weather was exceptionally hot, the electric fan provided was much appreciated. The hotel was very dog friendly too.
