The welcome and conviviality of the host was excellent. Typical continental breakfast was served. There is a super pizzeria just around the corner. The location is an easy and well signposted ten minutes from the ferry port where I was heading. The only slight moan is that the property is a little hard to find as it does not appear on gps. The reason is that it is set behind the house with the same street number. Just leave 'Bis' out of your search and remember the house is set back.

LES ARCADES, hotel in Arques-la-Bataille

LES ARCADES has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Dieppe. This 3-star hotel offers a concierge service and luggage storage space.

The breakfast was plentiful and comprehensive in a continental mode. The staff were friendly and helpful - especially the manager whose English was good and he was patient with our French. The location was perfect. We loved the history of the building and the fact that Pissarro had painted the harbour from the window of our room.

Handy for the ferry terminal at Dieppe - just 9km. Quiet interesting village twinned with Uckfield in Sussex. Fantastic 'cat-experience' creperie just down the road called 'Le Henri Cat'. Only go if you love cats.

The house is very historical ,but needs refurbishment. The dinner and breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. The property is badly let down by the quality of the bedrooms which are old and very basic

Small village only 10 mins from Dieppe. Auberge ideal.

Small village only 10 mins from Dieppe. Auberge ideal. Dieppe still has "French Fishing" village appeal with saturday market and quality restaurants. Prices reasonable despite poor exchange rate. Worth stopping off at Le Tourquet on way back to Calais

the location near Dieppe was ideal for a late arrival on the ferry. Arques-la-Bataille was a very quaint village with the ruins of a magnificent castle on the hill, calming lakes and a friendly atmosphere. The property was clean and comfortable with four bedrooms, which was of the reasons we chose it for our family of five. The patio area behind the house was private and we used it for meals after a visit to the boulangerie everyday.

A quaint old chateau , close to Dieppe ferry port , the ladies that looked after us at the hotel and in the restaurant were wonderful. The pictures don't do this place justice . The rooms are large airy and comfortable, the staff made sure your stay was as pleasant as possible

Delightful, historic hotel set within spacious and tranquil gardens. The perfect antidote to a noisy ferry crossing! We loved the hotel: the rooms were light and airy, and full of character, and the food in the restaurant was classic French cooking. The staff were charming.

Beautiful gardens were a treat to walk around. Our ground floor room was a good size and very comfortable. We ate at the restaurant which was typically French and of a good standard. Appreciate that the hotel was so pet friendly. Definitely would recommend and return.

Large and comfortable room. Owner kindly stayed up late to receive us from the late night ferry arriving in Dieppe. Much better place to stay than the sterile hotels on the outskirts of Dieppe. Excellent value.

Lovely historic, peaceful location with a walled garden which made it very relaxing. Definitely an experience of a more unusual hotel. The evening meal was also very good.
