During our stay the refurbishing of the apartment was not finished, hence some basic amenities were not available to us. These include; A heater in the bathroom and Wi-Fi. In addition to this some of the outlets were also inoperable due to some issues with the electrician. The host is looking into fixing these matters.
Now on to the review
During our stay we were surprised with the level of detail in the ‘roman’ esque room we had. With statues, wall decorations and furniture to boot. The space was lively due to the natural lighting by the windows and the door. Due to the nature of our stay this posed no issue.
The host was kind enough to provide us with food and beverages for our first day. The host also has excellent knowledge about the region and interesting landmarks. We had people in the apartment above us while the floor transmits the sounds clearly.
The bedding was changed frequently and the bathroom was cleaned regularly. The cooking utensils provided can be described as ‘adequate’ for simpler meals, but I wouldn’t recommend cooking complex meals. The hot plates can only be set to either on or off.
I would recommend this place to anyone interested in the countryside in Normandy and its history. As stated previously the host is quite knowledgeable of both the countryside and its history. The interior of the house is done quite well but has yet to be finished. During our stay our host provided us with the means to rectify any problems which we ran into. We enjoyed our stay very much.
