Dennis and his wife went out of their way to help us. The breakfast was lovely and Dennis was still full of good cheer despite having a guest rock up at two in the morning! We're looking forward to our return visit on the way back home.

The is the ideal start and end to a trip to France. No early morning crossings, just a convenient and less busy lunchtime or afternoon crossing, followed by a short drive to Le Wast, a warm welcome and a relaxing evening and superb dinner before setting off the next morning. The same on the way back with a relaxed crossing mid-morning to avoid the queues. All our European driving holidays start and end this way.

Beautiful and lovely pet friendly 'home' away from home even tho it was a hotel. We will most definitely stay again as it is only 20+/-minutes to the Chunnel crossing. If you are looking for a hotel convenient to the Calais...
If you are looking for a hotel convenient to the Calais terminals, this is a no brainer: why would you even look at Campanile, Formula 1, Brit Hotel when you could stay in a reasonably priced hotel located in a quiet village? The plus was the quality of the dinner. Better than a Hippopotamus and actually cheaper! My car was in complete security, which is not the case closer to Calais. This is a quiet village location, the drive to Eurotunnel check in took just 35 minutes. It is not Relais and Chateaux quality, but it is a good value for money hotel stop.

We were able to have a drink on the terrace before dinner which was lovely. Sadly it was too cold to eat outside like the last time when we were there. The staff are very attentive and make you feel welcome. We have stayed at Chateau des Tourelles before and would return. It has been run by the same family for decades.
