The Breakfast was incredible. The Restaurants that belong to the property are excellent. Unfortunately had no time, would spend 2 or 3 more nights.

The location is right on the fringe of the old town of Grignan, which is about as charming a town as one can imagine in the Drôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. The town is like something out of a romance novel, with its hilltop castle and narrow, medieval pedestrian lanes lined with shops (potters, bookmakers, clothing, etc.), and the hotel is decorated to match its charm. Of our 2-week stay in southern France, it was the most attractive hotel by far. Our family of 5 plus dog stayed in rooms 1 and 2, which were large and beautiful furnished. There was a private patio, and those two rooms are set off from the hotel's other rooms for heightened privacy and quiet. The breakfast was typical continental European, but with a much wider selection of jams and some other items not always found at continental breakfasts, and the service was friendly and quick (both of which are rare to find in France). We would recommend staying here as a base to explore the region, as several other towns with castles and several vintner "domaines" lie within easy drive of Grignan.
We wished we would have chosen to stay longer, both because of the hotel and the town itself. We would recommend both to anyone.
If you do go during the high season like we did (July, August), be sure to reserve all your dinners at your restaurant of choice, even in a small town like Grignan, or you will not likely find seating, especially for families. Even places like pizzerias book all their tables up, so pre-determine your dinner spot by lunchtime and reserve a table for later.
