Ease of checking in and friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent ,staff regularly topping up items. Would certainly stay there again if we need to visit that area.

The quality of everything in the room was exceptional. Everything had a touch of luxury about it. There was everything you could have possibly needed in the room .

The rooms are at an excellent location in the heart of Coggeshall. The Brasserie is next door and the food is simply fantastic. Parking is either right outside on the road or in the public carpark a 60-second walk away. The corner shop and two village pubs are also within a 60-second walk. A great location to base yourself if you need to spend a few days in this corner of Essex. Also, it's only a 30-minute drive back to the carhire village at Stansted airport.
With picturesque lake views , Annexe at Gosfield Lake offers free WiFi throughout. Free on-site parking is also available.

Never having visited Braintree before, I was pleasantly surprised to find it interesting to walk round, spacious yet with shopping alleys to wander down, and with friendly service in pubs and shops. The only downside was what appeared to be a distinct shortage of places besides The White Hart to go for an evening meal.

A pleasant, pedestrian friendly town centre offering plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. It has a fine Town Hall, library and museum telling of Braintree's past. A little way out of town is the Freeport Shopping Village and the town is conveniently placed to visit the neighbouring towns of Colchester and Chelmsford.

Very friendly & accommodating staff.
Very friendly & accommodating staff.
Food fresh & good choice.
Delicious cooked breakfast - very good value.
Rooms accessed via stairs - no lift - difficult for guests with mobility problems.
We are booking another stay end of November to visit the Christmas Market & enjoy the facilities again.

Braintree town has a good selection of cafe’s and pubs but is sadly lacking in retail outlets and late night entertainment.
It’s a good central position for exploring the area but you’ll definitely need a car because the local bus service isn’t very regular,

I actually come from Braintree so I know it well. Theres not many good shops in the town centre anymore but theres a retail area called the Braintree Village which is worth a visit and they have lots of shops there.
There is a wonderful eatery place called Toast in the town centre which I can recommend though. They make yummy toasted sandwiches and fancy stuff.

Interesting market town, very pedestrian friendly offering all the usual high street brands. Local museum and library good to visit with Freeport Retail Park located within 15 minute walk from town centre.
My family and I had a great experience at the Holiday Inn Express in Braintree. To begin with, the staff at the front desk and in the breakfast area was exceptional: very professional, kind and helpful. The rooms were very modern and clean. And the breakfast was excellent with quite a variety of breakfast foods and beverages. Great way to start our day! I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express to anyone visiting the Braintree area.
I was the 1st I'd stayed at Holiday inn. And it will now be my hotel of choice
The staff at the Braintree HI express were friendly, cheerful, helpful, polite and great fun to be around, I would like to give extra praise to the 2 ladies that were on reception on the evening of the 22/03/24 and also again at breakfast on the 23rd . The cheerfulness and extremely good service is to be commended
It works as a pub but not as a hotel, it seems like the staff don’t know (or don’t care) that they have guests staying overnight. Bad manners, no dinner served for some nights without warning, locking doors while you are sitting outside. But overall just rude when telling you.
I have already done this for the hotel directly. In essence it served our purpose well as a temporarily abode whist engaged in family social activities. Cheerful, friendly and helpful staff. Good room and en-suite. No requirement for 'luxury' facilities. Reasonable price.
The hotel is in a very nice and chilled location set in the centre of a small village. With free parking and brilliant facilities, the overnight stay for a local wedding was brilliant. I cannot fault the hotel at all and would not want to
ideal location, just outside Braintree in Essex. Perfect for a one to tonight stuff over all the facilities you require in the apartment would recommend this to anyone as is a quiet little sound, very relaxing.
The hotel downstairs is very nice.
We were moved to a room in the old part of the hotel as our first night was disturbed because of a christmas party.
Nicely cooked breakfast.
