Great place to stay and fabulous Sunday roast dinner. Fantastic breakfast, served very hot, and very tasty. I can't believe people are not queueing out the door , we had a great stay for one night in the suite, over the bank holiday. Staff are very friendly and service is so important to them.

The Board Inn met all my requirements for the area that I wanted to visit. The facility is a mid 18th Century Inn that has been modernised to a high and comfortable standard. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed all the meals that I ate there. The breakfasts were excellent. The evening meals were all of what I might term "high standard bar meals with plenty of choice:" the prices were very good. My room was clean, tidy and comfortable though space was a little "tight" when all my luggage was inside.
Lealholm itself is a quiet, small rural village in North Yorkshire though the road traffic can seem very busy. There is a small post office, a general store and a garage/filling station as well as a small shop selling sandwiches and cakes. There are also several small tea shops but visitors should note that these may not always be open for business when they want them to be. That said my visit did rather border on being "out of season."
F&H Camping, a property with a garden and a bar, is located in Danby, 46 km from Dalby Forest, 27 km from Middlesbrough Cathedral, as well as 28 km from Redcar Racecourse.

The best part of staying at the Old Barn is without a doubt...
The best part of staying at the Old Barn is without a doubt the stunning location and scenery. It is a peaceful haven surrounded by wildlife and the wonderful North York Moors.
Its a great central location to visit the lovely coastline here such aa Whitby, Staithes, Saltburn etc and a special treat for us was to go to Ravenscar and see the grey seal colony. Blakey Ridge nearby holds a special place in my heart as does Rosedale where you will see some fantastic views. A drive up Chimney Bank in Rosedale is a must, whwre you will find the old disused kilns, and a lot of quality walks.
All of this without being too far from shops, pubs and restaurants. We will definitely be going back again when we get the chance. Can't wait for the next visit!

The owners and staff were friendly and welcoming.
The owners and staff were friendly and welcoming. We could quite comfortably sit in the pub, read, listen to the locals chat and eat some delicious food. Breakfast was perfect to set us up for a long day of walking and the views were beautiful.
