A gem of a city, and a secret that now the people of Edinburgh are cottoning onto. It's got a beautiful Heritage Quarter with loads of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Fantastic old buildings, a huge amount of history and one of the most beautiful parks in the world - Pittencrieff Park - is glorious. It really is like a mini-Edinburgh without the fuss and crowds, and such a lovely place to hang out.

We travelled to visit Knockhill Racing Circuit for a booked experience day. Arrived on a lovely sunny day so decided to visit Pittencrief park on our way to the hotel (Adamson Hotel in crossford) where we had a great walk around the park and encountered many of the beautiful sights including the squirrels. All in all a wonderful visit and we will definitely be back at some point in the (hopefully not too distant) future

Hotel is in a good a quiet location but not far from the centre of Dunfermline. The grounds are well kept and the hotel decoration is excellent. The hotel is very clean. The room was a good size and comfortable. We had dinner on 2 nights and the food was very good and reasonably priced. The breakfast was also very good. The staff were outstanding, they could not do enough for their guests. We will certainly be back as you could not get a better hotel.

The cottage was very comfortable and was perfect for our stay. We'd stayed in a hotel for a few days prior to getting to the cottage and for the same price, we had a bedroom, large living room, bathroom, kitchen and garden. The property was only 10 minutes walk from a supermarket and take-away places and 20 minutes to Dunfermline railway station. We were visiting the Edinburgh Fringe and tattoo and it was esy to get into Edinburgh from the property !

Room was very clean and comfortable, nice selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, it was a quick easy arrival at the reception and situated in great area with lots of food establishments and cinema all a short walk from hotel. The hotel is also well situated for easy access to city centre and to main roads to Edinburgh and other areas, would definitely recommend for a quick stopover or as a base for exploring around the area

Easy to find with plenty of parking, simple booking-in process, tidy clean room with good facilities, supermarket across the road and a restaurant 5 mins walk away. Dunfermline city centre is an excellent place to have a wander around with a lovely park and some very historic buildings and streets. A great place to stay whilst attending motorcycle racing at the nearby Knockhill Race Circuit.

Great breakfasts and friendly banter from owner and son Alan and Brent. Alan went out of his way to make you feel welcome. Even lent me his golf clubs to go and play golf! Couldn't ask for more. The 5 minute walk to Dunfermline St Margaret's station meant you could jump on a day return to Edinburgh to explore the city. Great value for money. It was convienent I stayed there 4 nights!

The staff was very helpful as Booking.com had incorrectly booked our stay as informed by the hotel. I had booked for 2 Family Rooms accommodating 8, however Booking.com had relayed a Family Room and a Double Room to the hotel. However, the staff took care of us by arranging for extra bedding to fulfill our requirements despite them not being at fault.

The location was perfect, close to both the Town centre and my in-laws house in nearby Halbeath. Very central for all amenities but the Hotel itself was nice and quiet, set in spacious grounds, with ample parking to the front and rear. The restaurant served good meals, and with two bars running concurrently there was no problems getting a drink!

Our whole stay was totally idyllic and all the staff were not just friendly, but they all went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect. The hotel is beautifully decorated to reflect the original grandeur of this gorgeous 200 year old house, and our bedroom was exquisite and scrupulously clean, as well as very quiet.

Everything was beyond our expectations: affordable price, easy to reach location (both from Edinburgh city centre and the airport), marvellous views, delicious Scottish breakfast; to say nothing of the friendly and hospitable atmosphere created by the hotel owners. Strongly recommend to stay at this place.

The hotel has recently been refurbished and the rooms are excellent. The owners couldn't be more helpful. Set back from the main road it's also very quiet and has the feel of a rural hotel despite being 5 minutes from the centre of Dunfermline.
