Gable End Hotel, hotel in Hemsby

The Gable End is situated in a quiet area of Great Yarmouth, on the seafront, a short walk to all amenities. It boasts good food, free parking and free Wi-Fi.

With fairly new owners this is still a work in progress, but I hope it will eventually be a success. Being an old building, and a very interesting one, there are bound to be issues with the exterior, but the 'personal service' more than makes up for any flaws!. A very comfortable, homely stay, and I would definitely book again.

    Beach is beautiful.

Beach is beautiful. I went away with just my dog and felt a little nervous going solo - I needn’t have worried! Amazing pub in Hemsby called the Lacon Arms served fab food, friendly staff and very dog friendly. Little bakery at the start of the Main Street let me call out my order from at the door. Local Hirsts farm shop let you take your dog in and their cafe serves incredible food. A visit to quirky 1940’s Poppylands is a must as are the seals at Horsey Gap. Short drive to Gt Yarmouth (amazing model village) and so many wonderful beaches all within a few miles. Local People are so friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hemsby and surrounding area to dog owners and to families with children.

As it was near the end of season when we visited it was surprisingly busy and most of the shops and amusements were open. As it was in term time most of the people were older and not many kids. We had breakfast at a local cafe and used the nearest Chinese take away and they are great. Overall we had a very good time and visited all the local towns and villages.

Lottie was waiting to greet us, present the cottage and pass us the keys. We were delighted with the fresh beach themed decoration and well equipped property. There was a welcome basket of groceries and fresh produce in the fridge. The pretty garden was secluded with sun all day. A short walk down the dunes to the beach between Hemsby and Scratby to beautiful miles of sand. The stair case is winding, in keeping with the history of the cottage, so care was taken but it added to the quaintness. A beautifully presented accomodation.

Our stay at this lovely place was everything we could have hoped for and more. With plenty of activities for children, including a nearby park, amusement area, and a short walk to a sandy beach, boredom was never an option. The convenience of being just two minutes away from a pub and the club house added to the overall enjoyment. Plus, the fun fair and main Hemsby attractions were within easy reach. We're already planning our return trip, as this spot has everything needed for a memorable family holiday!"

Location was near a little farm, close to beaches, a few arcades nearby. Green spaces and a simple park onsite. The apartment was cleaned as well as possible and host was responsive to contact when it was necessary. The bedding was clean and the property well equipped with cleaning products and extra blankets, pillows etc. (bath towels are not included in the price) Everything you need for a budget break in a nice location.

It was clean and had everything we needed. The phone signal is really good. It was decorated beautifully and although the shower didn't drain well as soon as we let them know they fixed it. Communication was excellent. Its close to both Horsey and great Yarmouth so there is lots to do. The beach is lovely and just a 10 min walk away with arcades and places to eat! This chalet feels like the nicest in the park.
