Comfortable bed and clean room. Self check-in process was straightforward. Host provided instant oatmeal and cereal bars for breakfast and also noted other dining options nearby.

The view, the view, and the view. It was stunning. We had a full lake view room, absolutely great.
The staff was friendly, but we found out the hotel is owned by an Indian company, so we missed the Scottish atmosphere a bit.
The food was ok and reasonably priced. Again, the view was amazing, also in the restaurant.

Perfect place to stay. Our favorite stay from our hotel trip. The grounds were stunning, all the staff were so friendly towards us and our two young kids, and our rooms were so comfy and quaint. Wish we would have stayed here much longer.

Kevin checked us in and explained the ins and outs of the room. He was very friendly. He even called and made us a reservation for dinner down the hill—Emily’s Byre—one of our best meals of the trip. I didn’t catch his partner’s name, but the fresh croissants she made in the morning were amazing!

Good breakfast, apartment room. The host offered transport to the Great Glen Way next morning, as the location is several km from Spean Bridge and the Great Glen Way. We really enjoyed the stay.
Loved the place.
Found the pot holes quite unbelievable.
Loved the place.
Found the pot holes quite unbelievable. It’s a country wide problem I know, but I’ve never seen so many dangerous pot holes on the roads. Sadly we got Quite a big bill for the one we went over.

The views are simply stunning and beautiful.
The views are simply stunning and beautiful.
Our room overlooked the loch simply stunning 😊
Would be nice to have had the property lit up for night travellers new to the area and location.
Also would be lovely to meet the carers of the lodge too so face to face communication is readily avaliable for the lodge users.
If staying with family be aware of noise from other people around the house as it can feel loud due to the lodge being small.
Apart from that free parking and beautiful location of rural Scotland 😊

Great location, very friendly staff, clean and comfortable...
Great location, very friendly staff, clean and comfortable hotel.
There s a cosy well stocked bar, a restaurant overlooking the loch and excellent service.
The food is good with an Indian style although local dishes and produce are also well featured. The buffet breakfast is very good and will set you up for the day. The Hotel also offers guests without their own transport a drop off and collect service in the local area allowing one way walks to be planned.
Self contained apartments are also available on site as is a Spa treatment service which my wife thoroughly recommends.
This is one of three in the chain of Black Sheep hotels in the Highlands.

Re - Osprey Suite, Letterfinlay House Lodge.
Arrival -
Re - Osprey Suite, Letterfinlay House Lodge.
Arrival -
On arrival we found the accommodation to be filthy and not Covid prepared. See pics of kitchen and sitting room. The deck furniture was rusty and not fit for use. The deck table had smear of sticky clear liquid on its surface. We were informed that complimentary wine was available for us - no complimentary wine was available for us.
The accommodation claims “Extra health & safety measures” re Coronavirus. This is not apparent and doesn’t exist.
Communication -
We called the owner to make complaint re above within the hour of arrival. I informed him of the shocking presentation. His manner was initially defensive and then, very quickly, aggressive and unpleasant. He put the phone down on me, made no further offer of explanation or support and left my partner completely traumatised. We immediately left the property after the call.
Verdict -
Utterly appalling presentation of holiday accommodation and customer service - especially with prevalence of Covid and expected standards of hygiene. The owner has refused to reimburse our holiday fee - £470. We are liaising with booking.com and external tourism related advisors to recover our costs with added compensation for additional expenses and trauma that we incurred.

This is a great base for exploring the surrounding area...
This is a great base for exploring the surrounding area either by foot or car with Fort William about 10 miles to the South. That is if you can draw yourself away from the hotel's relaxing atmosphere and stunning views!
The staff were so professional and very friendly. From the people in the reception to the people working at the restaurant , no exceptions! It really makes a difference when the staff shows a smile on their face every day. We truly had an unforgettable experience.
The food was DELICIOUS! They also have halal options!
We booked a room with a view. Certainly worth it. The view was breathtaking.
The interior of the hotel was beautiful!
This is definitely a gem in Scotland
Everyone need to stay here at least once.
Booked this last minute and surprised there was a vacancy for 1 night. We had the smaller room with no view of the loch but it was spacious, clean and more facilities than we expected...tea, coffee etc but also breakfast bars and porridge pots and a fridge. The owner was very helpful when I phoned to make a table reservation not knowing the hotel next door is not connected to the lodge. He gave me their contact details and explained how to access the lodge. We had a lovely meal in whispering pines next door.
If you want a 5 * luxury spa with bistro menu then this is not the place for you
If you want to be treated like a guest and not a room number by people who care , in fabulous surroundings then stay here.
These places are rare to find, where time has paused and quality has been maintained.
The food is outstanding and service exceptional.
Your own loch access and plenty to do in the area.
No wonder guests return
The Letterfinlay House is located in an amazing spot right on the lake! We loved the location! We actually wish that we could have stayed longer! The house was clean and we had the pleasure of meeting the hosts the day we checked out. They were very kind and informative about nearby attractions. We highly recommend this location for lodging while in Ft Williams!
Letterfinlay Lodge is exceptional!! AMAZING location, beautiful view, and spacious. We've been in 5 other hotels during our vacation and this is hands down THE BEST!! If you can get the Osprey Suite... heavenly!!! Smaxi was super helpful. Just a wonderful experience that we would do again BUT stay longer next time!!
Our dinner had to be one of the best meals we have ever eaten. The family that run the hotel are lovely. Knowledgeable, and professional with an obvious love for their home and business. The views from dining room are beautiful.
The room although not large was
very clean and the bed comfortable.
Fantastic food, beautiful rooms, friendly staff, lovely view over Loch Lochy. Breakfast ordered the night before and cooked to order, dinner menu offered at breakfast so you could choose whether to eat in that evening and you could look forward to it all day!
Our bathroom had an enormous bath
What an amazing hotel. We booked it last minute and because the price was so reasonable we didn’t expect it to be so good. Staff were lovely as was the room and the breakfast. The location was beautiful. Even had its own private beach. Will definitely return.
Such a beautiful picturesque location! There is a private beach for guests with such a serene view you will not want to leave. the bar and restaurant are also top notch. multiple different types of stays with rooms, cabins, etc to fit anyones needs.
Really lovely stay at Letterfinlay, fantastic views and the bar & restaurant in the hotel next door were super convenient and really nice. Everything was clean and comfortable, close to Fort William and to the hills, had a fantastic stay!
Amazing location definitely worth the stay!
Next door there is a high end hotel for 500 a night so you get the same location for less than half the price .
Definitely recommend it !
Thank you for your hospitality!
Great location overlooking Loch Lochy.
Our room overlooking the Loch had superb views and a balcony.
It was well equipped; brill shower and lovely and warm and food for breakfast.
The hotel next door does meals.
Stunning location overlooking loch with balcony. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Decent en suite. Plenty of parking. Had excellent dinner at hotel next door - Whispering Pines.
Nice room bathroom newly renovated. View from across the road of the Loch and pebbled beach at Loch private to the hotel. Family run and the cook was very good. Food was beautiful.
Lovely hotel in a stunning location. Friendly staff and a total switch off of a weekend. Great location for exploring the Nevis range and cairngorm national park.
Views from the dining room were fabulous and access to a private beach was a bonus. The hotel was in a good location for exploring the Great Glen/Ben Nevis area.
