Wells is a delightful hidden gem of a "city" and this is an excellent hotel right in the heart of it. We had a small issue with our first room which was immediately handled by finding a new room for us. On the night there wasn't a wedding the place was quiet and peaceful. Beds were comfortable. Restaurant was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

The room was exceptional. Really spacious and clean, lovely shower. The location was perfect for getting around, only a 5 minute walk to the centre. The staff were all very welcoming and the two meals we had were very good.

I had a terrible stay at Montigo Resorts Somerset. The room was dirty, with mould found in multiple places. I found a hair tie with hair still on it, shower head covered in limescale, proving they don’t clean properly. The staff were unhelpful and insisted the room was fine, clearly just spraying Febreze to mask the nasty smell. The whole hotel is extremely rundown.
This is a small, sleepy, rural village. I have friends here - the reason for visiting. It's very quiet, characterful and has that slight Glastonbury quirkiness to it. Beautiful old cottages and house roll down and up the hillsides with a river/stream at the bottom. Very quiet. You can destress here.
