Beautiful place to stay. Lovely bedroom with very comfortable bed. Superb breakfast. Very welcoming hosts. Quiet location. Nice views from bedroom.
A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!

Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week.
Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week. There is a limited choice at the best of times, but most places seem to be closed on a Tuesday (and maybe some other days as well).
A tour of Tarbert itself only takes half an hour or less, but it is in an attractive setting. I suggest you pass through in the daytime, have a coffee in Cafe Ca'Dora, buy local whisky from the specialist local seller, and move on.

Tarbert is a lovely little seaside fishing village on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyle. It's a nice location with great facilities for a small village. We ate in the Stonefield Castle restaurant about two miles from the village. The setting and view from the dining room were outstanding, both the service and food were excellent.
On arrival, just looked like a normal barge, once through the swing doors very nautical theme, then to our room Loch Fyne, lovely clean room and cracking view of harbour and even had a visit from a swan. Good sized shower room too. Very peaceful location for a night away. There are a few restaurants available nearby, a local recommended the anchorage for dinner, lovely seafood and choice. Breakfast available at hotel opposite or restaurants nearby. Enjoyed our stay.
West Loch Shore, Tarbert, is the best possible location for exploring Kintyre - Tarbert is a lovely village, with everything you could need, and the Lodge was ideal for us. Clean, spacious, and well equipped. We had a really comfortable stay, and loved how peaceful it was. Arrival was smooth, staff were friendly and helpful and we had everything we needed. The view over the Loch is just lovely. A brilliant spot for a getaway as a couple or as a family.
We came to Tarbert with our dog to start walking the Kintyre Way. Fortunate enough we found "Starfish Rooms" for the first night. Prime location close to harbour and just next to lots of Restaurants. Small but nice room in a converted old building, partially visible natural stone walls. Personal welcome by owner with plenty of advise and tips. Easy parking. There are several choices to have breakfast next to this accommodation (Room only)
The room was decorated in good taste with many interesting curios and art objects. The view of Tarbert Bay was stunning. I doubt that any other view in the town could compare. Allan was a very nice host. A breakfast tray was placed on the table right outside our door at the appointed time.
This was the second time we booked this room. The first was in 2018. Glad that everything was just as we remembered it.
Very friendly, welcoming hosts. Able to park right outside the property which was a bonus.
The property is located near the harbour and Tarbert Castle. Local shops and restaurants are just a walk away.
We both enjoyed a good nights sleep in the comfortable bed.
Breakfast was delicious. More tea /coffee and toast was offered.
Would stay in this property again if we were travelling to this area.
Booking query resolved straight away. Extremely helpful staff. Dinner was excellent without being too pricey. Property could do with being upgraded but this is reflected in the price you pay. Exceptional location in this charming fishing village. Hotel very clean and comfortable. Well done Anchor Hotel for your outstanding hospitality.
Wonderful, quiet location down a long drive before you get to Tarbert. Instructions left inside directed us to the woodland walking path to Tarbert. A very pretty walk. Informative information on where to park and eggs for sale. Comfortable accommodations with plenty of room for the three of us.
The breakfast was brilliant, the hole house and the owner Allan and his wife of the house were most friendly. The room was beautiful decorated with wooden figures, the view over the hole harbour of Tarbert was brilliant !!
Our best B&B on this journey ! Thank you, Allan!
Very friendly owner. We arrived two hours before check-in time. He offered to make the room ready for us immediately. The room has all you need for one or two nights.
Perfect location with lovely views over the Tarbert harbour.
the location , overlooking the fishing boats heading back to the harbour, a stones throw from both the Portavadie ferry in one direction and into Tarbert Main Street in the other.
Location in Tarbet was perfect for our overnight stay before the ferry. Room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Had nice bathroom and good views over the harbour.
