The history of the hotel. The decor following recent refurbishments. The furnishings were to a very high started. We really liked the bar and the breakfast.

Staff were fantastic- helpful and welcoming. Food was superb, evening meal and breakfast. Local produce in the kitchens and no packaging at breakfast, clearly organised with environmental sustainability in mind
Within the historic Burghley Estate, The William Cecil features unique rooms with original features, and Egyptian cotton sheets. Its restaurant serves fresh, seasonal food.

Location near the Burghley Estate house. Great scenery. Ample parking with easy access. Close to downtown shops and restaurants. The meals were included and the food was good. A lovely old building.

This is a recently refurbished old hotel which has had no expense spared to bring it up to a very high standard. The ambience is excellent, high level of finishing and comfort. Wansford is a charming old village which is very quiet. The hotel sits next to the River Nene giving a lovely peaceful rural feel. A great place to meet friends and stay.

A beautiful village that has very easy access to all the main routes. The properties in the village have great charm and elegance with not a piece of litter in site. The residents are clearly, and rightly so, very proud of their village. There is a hotel and a very inviting pub/restaurant (both dog friendly) there are also some lovely little shops and a Post Office.

met up with family and went for a short wander along to The Paper Mills for a drink on Sunday evening and was astonished that the pub shut at 20:00pm !!! however the Cross Keys a bit further up the road was open until a sensible time 23:00pm so they had some of our money

The Haycock Hotel was great with a lovely cafe across the road and pub. It was also handy to have a corner shop to get the paper in the morning. There were lovely walks from the village and not too far to nearby villages with good pubs for a drink or meals. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Everything was really very good, but the whole place is VERY worn. Staff all good, evening meal (Food) very good, just a very unfriendly restaurant atmosphere. Table very plain. No music, TV on but couldn't hear it!
Was no clean path up to the reception. Don't think it had been swept for weeks?
Very friendly welcome and happy to move our room to a lower floor. Lovely large room with comfortable bed, classy decor, pleasantly decorated bathroom.
Breakfast was unfussy, with a reasonable choice considering the hotel was quiet. The cooked breakfast was attractively presented.
All staff we met were friendly and welcoming with good service skills..
The courtyard area was beautiful on a warm evening.
This is so different from the old Haycock, now a quality hotel.
First impression the hotel from the outside looks nice
But the standard of the quality of workmanship on the return is poor
The service is so slow and you can wait at reception for more than 10 mins
Breakfast looks good with no flavour
Our entrance to our room was covered in fly’s and the damp smell is horrid but the staff can’t see the fly’s nor can they smell damp
Service was excellent, particularly reception - staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel was beautifully refurbished - excellent balance between old and new
Food standard was very high and nice to have several eating options
Fixtures, fittings and furnishings were of high quality standard
Bed was a dream to sleep in.
The hotel has recently been refurbished and both our bedroom and all the communal areas were beautifully decorated.
We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel which were both excellent.
We really liked the hotel, which is conveniently located next to the A1, and will definitely return this year.
The village is pretty as well.
Exceptional hotel in historic surroundings. Everything was good and we would stay again if in the area. The room was large and spotless, the bed very cosy and comfortable. En-suite bathroom was big, the shower excellent. All staff were courteous and professional throughout the Hotel.
A stunning hotel which suited our purposes of a little getaway perfectly. Food & drinks were fabulous (both restaurants and breakfast - we tried it all), service attentive and the room was spacious, clean and quiet. The bed was super comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
The open plan style in the bar and patio area. The hotel has undergone a complete transformation and modernisation, but the integral building is in tact. The decor was attractive and everything felt very comfortable.
It was all great. The staff were fantastic, the room gorgeous.
The hotel has been lovingly restored to ensure the period elements remain a feature.
It was a lovely relaxing stay
