Listing caught my attention due to the great score which is fully deserved. Abbey is a wonderful host, very organised and had provided very clear instructions regarding check in/out and also provided lots of great advice for local restaurants and other services. Also a very lovely and welcoming person and really could not do more to make the stay enjoyable. The room itself was very spacious and immaculately clean with a good sized private en suite shower/toilet. Best night's sleep I have had in a long time! Other reviews mention road noise but I did not notice this with the windows open and even if closed, there was a fan in the room to provide cooling.

Good value for money and a lovely overnight stay for us. A clean, comfortable room with good facilities. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. The staff were first class- very friendly and helpful. You enter the hotel from a rear car park, which doesn’t give the best first impression, but once in the main reception area you are re-assured. The hotel is on a very quiet, peaceful location. It is not sign-posted at all from the A52 through Whiston, which is not ideal especially as the turning into the very narrow lane is tight and not obvious.SteveNew Zealand - 10Scored 10

Fantastic place to stay!
Fantastic place to stay! Such friendly hosts that would go out of their way to make your stay perfect. Food was incredible and had something for everyone - which is great when you have fussy eaters in your group. We will always stay here when visiting Alton Towers.

Fantastic! Just got back from a 2 night stay... the young lady who was there the whole time we were, was so lovely. She is a real credit to the place and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was lovely / very clean, it was also on nice grounds which would have been perfect for lovely walks. We stayed on the ground floor, room Was very spacious however we could hear people above us from time to time and our bed was abit hard ! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and included within our stay (vegetarian option available). Alton towers was a 10min drive from hotel which was very handy. All in all I would recommend hotel.

Despite only staying one night, our host remembered small details that made our stay more enjoyable. Some of the best service I've experienced. We stayed here for Alton Towers which is just an easy ten minute drive away. The location is perfect, quiet, and beautiful. The evening meal was also very good and great value, making this a more reasonable, grown-up alternative to the theme park hotels.
