We had such an amazing time here. The grounds were beautiful and the room was simple and basic but clean (you cannot complain for the price) the food was some of the best that we have had in Indonesia and our trip around Asia for the past 6 months. There are 3 cute cats too and a dog who just had some little puppies! The best part though was our jungle trekking with Supri and Rudi. They were such brilliant guides and they really made the experience amazing for us. They are such kind people and we felt so comfortable in the jungle with them. Both their English is amazing - especially as Supri lived in the UK for many years. Supri even helped us buy mosquito spray and helped me when my shoes broke 😆 and they gave us a lift to buy our bus tickets and drove us to our new accommodation. The food they gave us at the trek was so tasty too! A really important part of this trek for us was making sure our guides were ethical and respectful of the animals and jungle and you can really tell that these guys care a lot about their environment and the animals. They didn’t give any of the animals fruit and they were really careful in taking all rubbish etc away with them. They spoke so highly of their community that they grew up in and the plans they have for the future sustainability of the forest. They helped us get so (safely) close to so many orangutans 🦧 and even a huge male! Please don’t hesitate at all and book a tour with these guys! Thank you Supri and Rudi! We loved the guesthouse, the wonderful location at the river and the very friendly staff! The food in the restaurant was also great. We also booked 2-day-jungle-trekking tour which was just amazing! We saw orangutans and monkeys, a snake and different birds. The guide was experienced and explained a lot of facts about the jungle to us. One of the highlights was definitely staying the night at the camp in the jungle.

We had a fantastic time at Cheeky Monkeys. The staff were incredibly kind, and it was wonderful to hang out with them in the common area. They were also very helpful with everything we needed. Our jungle trekking experience with them was absolutely awesome! Huge thanks to all the guides at Cheeky Monkeys. We had the greatest time at Batu Kapal! Wonderful staff that is always super friendly. Amazing food (also for vegetarians) and anytime we went to the restaurant everybody was smilling or joking with us. We also loved the live music! It was always such a nice atmosphere with all of you! Until now the best place we have stayed at during traveling around! We also did the 3 days trek and because of our Guides Hendra and Bagus we had an amazing time. They have always been there for us to get the best possible experience. We were very lucky, we saw so many monkeys on the track and sometimes really close! We could also see monkeys around the accommodation while eating at the restaurant or swimming in the river! You have so many options what to do in Batu Kapal and around. From adventure in the nature or in Bukit Lawang, to just chilling in the river (which is only 1 minute away from the accommodation). You can also always ask the staff if they can drive you somewhere with the motorbike. We extended our stay for one more week with the help of Bayu, which has been the best decision ever, because we didn't want to leave but sadly we had to now. So good 👍 best place we have stayed, Murad and his team could not do enough for us, the property is stunning and grounds ar very impressive and well cared for. Breakfast and dinner with Murad was so good 👍 location outside the village but easy with Murads help to get about, Gibbon trip was something else and I would also recommend the bat cave on a separate morning

Beautiful environment, clean air outside the busy part of the city. Great owners who took care of us in every way, excellent kitchen and clean and comfortable accommodation. An oasis of peace and good mood. I recommend booking a 3-day jungle trek through them, it was the best experience of the entire stay. We saw a lot of animals in the wild thanks to the excellent guides and they also have a great cook :)
