Barrow House, hotel in Ballyheigue

This property is set on the beach. Barrow House offers waterfront accommodation in a Georgian manor house, and set on 2 acres of its own private beach.

Fabulous waterside location with amazing views. Lovely Georgian House which has been renovated in a modern quirky style. Delicious breakfast around a big table- we met the other guests who were all very interesting. Our host Daragh gave us a very warm Irish welcome. She was full of suggestions about places to go, where to eat and even organised for 2 other musical guests to play some traditional Irish music with one of her friends- above and beyond!

Grand Hotel Tralee, hotel in Ballyheigue

The Grand Hotel is in the heart of Tralee, just 2 minutes’ walk from Siamsa Theatre. It offers a fine restaurant, limited free public parking, free Wi-Fi and rooms with satellite TVs.

Friendly staff and a great room for four people. Very comfortable. The parking is nearby and the hotel will give you a free permit (for a refundable deposit of 50 Euro). Especially loved the room, 2 separate bedrooms and a very adequate bathroom. No mini fridge, but that seems to be the norm. The location is great, literally within 5 minutes walk of numerous restaurants and shops.

My accommodation was superb. Beautiful beach. I didn't have to move my car, I appreciated the rest to walk and swim. I would have liked to stay longer and do more. IT is also in a good location from which to visit other towns in Kerry or places of interest. Listowel and Tralee are not far away.

The hotel and staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is lovely. There is a lot of charm. It is right beside the beach and super convenient. The beach is fab as is the town. The atmosphere is low key, everybody doing their own thing in a non intrusive way. I had food in the bar which was very good. There was a good choice for breakfast. Ballyheighe is a little gem.
