Helen was an extremely welcoming host, providing laundry facilities and also recommendations on local hikes (she even lent me a book of hikes in the area) and other activities. The place was roomy, had a full kitchen, and was perfect for our stay.

Very little choice of places to eat or have a coffee.
Very little choice of places to eat or have a coffee. Tea rooms not open at 11am on Thursday as suggested. Had a fab dinner at Monks and on a return visit next morning at 1130am had great tea n scones in front of blazing stove. Superb.

The hosts were very friendly right from greeting us upon arrival and giving us tips to serving us breakfast before we left. The full Irish breakfast was very good. We had dinner before arriving in Ballyvaughan, and only stayed for one night. We had a car, so it was easy for us to drive into the town centre from there. We would stay there again. We were given tips of sites to see when we left, and one we were glad not to miss was the Poulnabrone Portal tomb.

We only were able to stay one night. It was a great launch pad for visiting the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. The people were friendly, the food was great and the pub was fun with local, live music!
We recommend it!

The Clare Way is a nice way for walkers.
The Clare Way is a nice way for walkers. There are at least two good places to eat out.
Some side roads are in a poor state of repair. Clare County Council need to fill the pot holes and try and keep the roads in decent repair. This includes some access routes to this property.

A beautiful traditional Irish village with all you need for a comfortable varied stay in Ireland. Situated between the stunning Burren and the cliffs off the Atlantic Ocean, and nestled on the south side of Galway Bay, Ballyvaughan is ideally located. There are a lot of places to visit in the area. You can swim in the bay or on the nearby Bishop's Quarter beach. In Summer or Winter there are lovely places to visit and in Ballyvaughan alone, the fabulous Monk's seafood restaurant is a great spot with super friendly staff, a warm welcome and really fabulous food. I cannot wait to go back to Ballyvaughan!

there was a Match-making Festival happening in September in nearby villages of west of ireland, named biggest party for singles in the world. this was the best accommodation in terms of crowd-avoidance and distance from local attractions. we could have stayed little longer...
Very friendly reception. The landlady is cordial and willing to provide information. The rooms were spacious, clean and in a quiet location on the Cliffs of Moher.
The house is almost in the center of the village. Sea, restaurants and harbor are within very short walking distance. A grocery store for shopping is only 50 meters away.
Breakfast was extensive and very good.
We would try again to book this accommodation on a renewed trip to this place.
Wolfgang and Maria have created an oasis on the Burren. They meticulously and was great effort created an amazing hotel. The accommodations were more than comfortable as well as the library, dining room and games room/bar. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Amazing friendly staff. Hope to be back someday. Built on three natural springs with the cleanest tasting water I have tasted.
Cappabhaile was in a beautiful location near to town with some nice restaurant choices. We were giving a very friendly welcome and treated to the BEST breakfast in two weeks in Ireland! We had to skip lunch! The room had a lovely view of the hills to enjoy a cup of tea. The beds were comfy and the room had a lot of space to relax. Overall it was a wonderful stay!
This place is a gem. Karen was so friendly and helpful in every way. Our room was spacious, spotless, and the bed was quite comfortable. The "Irish breakfast" was the best we had throughout our visit to Ireland. Our stay at the Creggs helped make Ballyvaughan the highlight of our holiday. We recommend this place highly and hope to return.
Great house in a great location. The house was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. It was like (an improved version) of home from home. It was also a perfect launch point to visit all the attractions that Clare has to offer. Being within very short walking distance of shops and restaurants made evenings easy. Highly recommended!
I like the fact that parking was available on the back of property. It may be different during peak season.
Since I recently twisted my ankle and not so mobile, I was grateful the lodge had a lift. Room 10 is right next to the lift and comfortable. Plus the lodge had a bar and restaurant.
Hosts were very welcoming. Beautifully clean, appointed self catering Studio with fresh supplies of bread, milk, tea, coffee and cake. Perfect location for visiting Aillwee Caves and a good stop along The Wild Atlantic Way.
Lovely rural setting with a short drive to local town.
Pauline and Gerry welcomed us as old friends in their home, the hospitality was really beyond expectations. The house was super clean and I think I have never tried such good breakfasts. If you want to taste west Ireland staying in a super lovely place, this is the choice
incredibly well set up for family stay, great garden with lovely light sun room on the back of the cottage. Local amenities all in walking distance. Perfect location for visiting all the best sites on the Wild Atlantic route. Highly recommend.
This hotel is a gem. Excellent location for exploring north Clare. We were upgraded on arrival. Our room was beautiful. We ate in the bar one evening and the food was really good. Watching the sunset on Galway Bay was the icing on the cake,
Bridget was really nice. She tried to help us with whatever information she could share about Restaurants, parking etc. She asked for breakfast choices well in advance. Premises and rooms are kept clean.
The hotel is ideally located for visiting most of the attractions in co Clare and Galway. The food was excellent and cooked fresh
. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was spotless
Very comfortable hotel, staff very attentive. Good choice of breakfast and served until late, so no rushing in the mornings.
Good atmosphere in the evenings, busy but well run bar, live music.
The hotel was well appointed, very clean and quiet. The guest receptionist was kind and thoughtful. I fell ill while there, and she called me room to check on my, brought me soup at lunchtime.
Central location for touring Clare/ quiet/ very comfortable beds/ good shower/ good food/ friendly staff/ comfortable outside space to have a drink. / friendly bar staff and restaurant staff.
This place was mood and vibes! Wolfgang was a wonderful host. This was our favorite stay in Ireland. We hunkered down in the Granny Flat during a storm. It was the best.
