The B&B is a little way from the center, it’s a house in the middl of apartment blocks, quiet unique. Pedro, the host, is a gem, helpful, welcoming, obliging, he made my stay. Pedro also served a generous breakfast and gave me a bite to eat on the way. A good experience.

Charming, soaring ceilings, kitchenette, plenty of room for 4 adults. The host, Salvatore, went above and beyond to help us when I got locked out (my husband had the key) and when I needed transportation to the train station. He was always gracious and unflappable. It was close to everything, gelato, restaurants, nightlife and yet very quiet. It is also a short walk to the beach and the castle.

We highly recommend Essence in Barletta, Italy. It’s located about a 5 minute walk from the central train station and 10-12 minutes from the Duomo and Colossus. Our airy room was sparkling clean, from crisp bed linens to the cool tile floor. The rain/hand shower is the best we have encountered in several weeks in Europe so far this year. The room had juice, a basket offering a choice of many breakfast items. There was a coffee maker, little cappuccino machine, and a teapot as well. Our main objective in staying in Barletta was to visit the nearby Cannae Battlefield (where Hannibal famously defeated the Romans) and museum. Here, Anna Maria, who runs Essence, proved extremely resourceful. We arrived in Barletta on a holiday; there was not a taxi in sight at the train station. But Anna Maria had arranged a driver for us! Carlo picked us up at the train station, took us by Essence to leave our luggage, drove us past vineyards and olive groves to Cannae and returned for us two hours later. If not for Anna Maria’s arranging the outing for us, we would have missed our long-anticipated visit to Cannae. When Carlo dropped us off at Essence, Anna Maria was there to be sure all was well. And she came the next morning with fresh croissants! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The one caveat would be that our room was up several flights of stairs and there is no elevator, so travelers who are elderly or who have heavy luggage should be aware. (We are both elderly and have heavy bags, and we managed just fine!)

Fabululous decor, and Antonella a great host, full of tips and ideas to visit Barletta!

Barletta and all surrounding small cities are very interesting from a historical and architectural point of view. Barletta is a very fine base for short trips to Gargano (Vieste, Peschici, Foresta Umbra, Monte Sant'Angelo etc.), to Andria, to Castel del Monte, to Cannae della Bataglia, Trani, Giovinazzo etc. Barletta itself has a fine castello with a passable museum inside and a fine arts exposition of De Nittis. Bari Airport is a short drive away, also the large commercial complex at Molfetta. In sum, Barletta is a very fine choice for a base to reside and explore Puglia in 1-day trips. I would assume Barletta gets crowded in high summer season.

I was surprised at how beautiful Barletta was.
I was surprised at how beautiful Barletta was. We only stopped for the night on our way up north and was amazed with what we saw. It has beautiful sandy beaches, outdoor cafes, restaurants and parks. The people were friendly, and the night life was alive with people everywhere. What blew us away the most was the old part of the town. The picturesque little narrow streets and architecture of the buildings. A must see if you have time. I needed to stay a few days at least.

Beautiful historic centre. You can walk everywhere.
Beautiful historic centre. You can walk everywhere. Small and compact. Excellent food especially the fish and seafood. Very lively in the evening. Seems like the whole town goes out for a walk and to socialise. The nearby beaches are very inviting in warm weather.

We loved this beach town.
We loved this beach town. There are extensive shopping and dining options in the (historic) city center. It appeared to be a hidden gem for many foreign tourists, as English is little spoken.
Beautiful town with authentic buildings, monuments and all within walking distance. Bari Airport is a 35-minute drive.
Shops are usually open in the morning and from 17.00 until 20.45 hrs in Barletta, meaning many cars in the narrow streets as people go for dinner and shopping. Caution is required.

Barletta was a genuine taste of Italy away from the tourist trail. It is a town by the sea rather than a seaside town. The beach is not the main attraction. The old town is beautiful with lots of cafes to soak up the atmosphere. The castle and cathedral are the main places to see. Typical white stone buildings with lots of little streets to explore. We hired a car and found it easy to find our way around. It wasn't always clear who had right of way and the drivers don't seem to stick to the limit. We were advised to go at the speed of the car in front. There isn't much to do in Barletta so is ideal for a short stay or as a base for exploring the local area which has many coastal towns as well as hilltop towns nearby. Pizzeria Mattone is the best place for pizza.
Beautiful appartment equipped with absolutly everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Spacious kitchen with plates and all cooking utensils, comfortable living room with good TV (Netflix included), AC. Big bedroom with great bed. All spotless clean. Additionally all rooms have fans. Location right in the historic centre with all cafes and restaurants there. 5 min walk to the beach.
Stefania is an exeptional host- so kind to pick us up from the train station. If you need a place in Barletta - I highly reccomend that one.
Everything you want & need for a one night stay. easy check-in by a welcoming host. great location. well decorated small space. big warm shower. comfy bed. quiet. free parking a few blocks away. breakfast options from 2 nearby cafes. 1 ding for no wine glasses or opener, or coffee in the room, although tea is provided. I like a nice cup before venturing into the world first thing in the morning! ! i would definitely stay again & recommend if in Barletta.
We loved this quaint B&B in the heart of Barletta. It was clean, comfy, and conveniently located in the center of town. There is no on-site parking but there are garages and inexpensive parking spots on the street nearby. The hosts/owners are a lovely couple who are eager to please and really care about making their guests happy and comfortable. The included breakfast is at a cafe down the street and was excellent.
We had a wonderful stay. The apartment is clean and beautifully designed. It has a good location to go to the beach and to the surrounding restaurants. Titti, the woman who takes care of everything, is the most friendly host I ever encountered. She helped us with issues, recommendations and other arrangements without ever being difficult. Moreover, Barletta has great weather and food to offer.
Wonderful stay at Barletta! Huge thanks to Margherita, her son Giovanni and his girlfriend Francescca who were incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, rooms clean, spacious and well-equipped, and bed very comfortable. Plus the location was amazing and close to everything! We would highly recommend this hotel and return in a heartbeat!
The accomodation was quite comfortable but there is nothing to do in Barletta. There are no restaurants around. Parking is a problem. The streets are very narrow and the parking spaces are never empty. There are parking spaces near the shops but it is about 7 mins by walk. Trani is a better location then Barletta.
I like everything. Everything and even more that I’ve expected. Late check in and Aldo with his family already waiting for me, every day some extras to my room, late check out also without problem solved. Location, I think you can’t find better place to be just in the middle of Barletta.
The property was in a great location. 10 minute walk from the castle and the old city, 15 minutes to the beach. The property was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities for cooking and eating in if we wanted to. I definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Barletta.
Casa Duconte is quiet even when it's loud in town is loud, it's close to everything, and signore Duconte is a gracious and patient host. The room was spacious and well appointed, and it had everything I needed. I would go back if I were in Barletta again. Mille mille grazie!
Directly in center of Barletta. We didn’t use the car. The property manager is very friendly, accommodating, and responding timely on legitimate requests. Apartment is new, great bathroom, canapé, and kitchenette. A/C works very well and it is welcomed.
Highly recommend! The hotel is cozy, clean rooms, delicious breakfast. Located in the center, close to the sea, and not far from the rail station. The hosts are very nice and hospitable people. Thank you very much, I enjoyed staying here 😊
The property had a really nice view on the main church of Barletta, the room was soundproof so no noises from outside at night.
Carlotta and Damiana were super helpful, kind and polite.
I will definitely come back with my friends!
Excellent location, very close to everything in the beautiful city of Barletta! The bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped. The terrace was a plus. Francesco is a careful host.
I would definitely recommend casa lopez to anyone traveling to Barletta. The staff were excellant and the room was over the top. It was the best place I've stayed in on my trip to Italy.
Place was great, in the literal centre of Barletta. Breakfast is served in nearby cafés of your choice. Rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfy. Staff are overly helpful and kind.
All the benefits of staying in a larger hotel - 24h reception, breakfast buffet and good parking - and still the staff has time for small talk and for making you feel welcome
Conveniently located and easy to find, it really made our stay In Barletta stress-free. The room had everything we needed, even the breakfast cookies included and coffee.
