FAQs about hotels in Venice-Lido

Chic Venetian Beach Resort

Spanning 11 kilometres between the Adriatic Sea and one of the most famous lagoons in the world, Lido is a narrow and long island located just in front of Venice’s Old Town. Beach resorts, hotels and private villas replaced the vegetable gardens 160 years ago that provided tranquil settings for poets and writers like Lord Byron and Thomas Mann.

Probably one of the first beach resorts in the world, its first facility opened in 1857 and soon became a success. Nowadays, it constitutes a peaceful suburb that claims its golden past once a year during the Film Festival, and offers a quieter setting for your accommodation than central Venice.

There are actually three different villages on the island. Lido itself is located in the north, and includes most of the hotels and the Venice Casino. The smaller Malamocco and Alberoni are situated to the centre and south respectively. The sea-facing side of Lido Island is a succession of sandy beaches, mostly belonging to different resorts and hotels.

Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta is the island’s main street, leading from the ‘vaporetto’ water bus pier to the sea. There are buses running on the island, while direct waterbus links to Venice Marco Polo Airport are also available.

Lido was recommended to me by a friend who goes every year.

Lido was recommended to me by a friend who goes every year. She'd stayed in lots of areas. Great choice ! The island was quieter, cleaner, cheaper and not so busy. It was lovely to walk around, trees, flora and fauna, churches , lots of shops and restaurants. Short stroll to a beautiful beach. Amazing sunsets, with all those views. Picture perfect. We used a three day vaporetta pass to get around. We were two stops away from main part of Venice, where we got off to explore. Four stops to San Marco, quick and easy. Longer trips to Murano, which was worth a visit...free to get into the glass factory on a Wednesday and the airport was a 45 minute ride, but easily done.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The space was quaint and perfectly located away from the crazy busy hub that is Venice. It was a 5 minute walk to the laundromat, where you could have a drink nearby at a bar while you waited. Another 5 minute walk and you were at the beach. Lots of eateries, shops, bars and way less people.

Very close to the buzzing city of Venice (only minutes by Vaporetto) but away from all the noise and crowded streets. Perfect place to relax in the evening. Very nice restaurants, B&Bs and even a beach where you can sunbath and swim. We used to stay in Venice but now we always stay here.

Feels like a typical Italian village, but it's only a ten minute boat ride to piazza San Marco. It's quiet, but elegant. The bars and restaurants I tried - on the main boulevard and along the canal - were excellent.

I have stayed on the fabulous island of lido several times as I love it there and it only takes 20 minutes to get to Venice by vaporetto boat, the island has many very good hotels, apartments, restaurants, bars, shops and a great long beach where there is the wonderful blue moon beach bar, there is a wonderful relaxing vibe to the island, where the vaporetto boat arrives you can get buses or taxis around the island and you can get a boat from Marco polo airport which takes about 50 minutes.

I didn't go to the beach, I went to a ceremony in the Palazzo del cinema. Lido is a quiet place with beautiful houses and a beach. You can see the sunset from the water front and Venice which was very pretty. I heard that it's quite dead in winter time, but end of September was perfect, quiet but still lively.

The position of the hotel is wonderful. On a very quite island with a lot of local restaurants and bars - both luxurious and inexpensive. Safe heaven from loud Venice. 5 min walking to a private beach, 15 min to a public beach. Easy commute on buses to reach water tram or local supermarket. 15 min takes with a river tram to reach Venice. Staff is very pleasant, careful and considerate. Cosy breakfast in small canteen had been always the best way to start a day.

I’ve traveled to Italy more than a dozen times. By far, —this stay was the most pleasant and completely enjoyable. Quiet, secure location in an idyllic neighborhood with delicious cuisine nearby. A short walk to the convenience of the Vaporetto dock. The desk staff and particularly Christine, shined with their helpfulness. and kind professionalism. Hotel Biasutti will be one of the main reasons I’ll return to Venice again soon. (The room had Great AC too)

The hotel has a great atmosphere because it is a bit older but seems well maintained. The breakfast was very good. My gf has gluten intolerance which we communicated at the time of booking. They promptly responded and provided her, every morning, with a variety of glutenfree alternatives. This was much appreciated. The staff was friendly and the room was good. The hotel itself is a nice stay. It's a nice location if you're planning on staying in Lido, and the room itself doesn't feel small and was regularly cleaned and re-stocked, which was greatly appreciated. This place would be nice to stay in in the summer as it is right by the beach.
