Sneek was a single night stop on a bike tour, it is well situated for crossing the northern dam en route to Den Oever/ North Sea coast. The town seemed to have good restaurants and facilities that we viewed on our way out next morning.

It's a really nice cozy little town.
It's a really nice cozy little town. We loved walking around the canals and looking at the historical sights. One place to recommend for dinner is called Stoof, they do stews with tastes from around the world, the food there is really tasty and the service is awesome! You might want to book a place there if you're planning to come after 7 as it gets quite popular.

Worth a 2 day visit if not sailing.
Worth a 2 day visit if not sailing. If you rent a sail boat, add a day. Remember to visit the wonderful maritime museum for hours of pleasure and wonder about Sneek's and Friesland's maritime history and its culture of independence.
Many shops are open on Sunday's. Lots of choices of restaurants. Many photo opportunities with buildings and canals from the 14th to 19th century surrounded by a lot of green.
Take the train to such nearby old towns like Stavoren, Hindeloopen, Workum etc. With some of those count on walking half a mile or so as they are not in town then like in Sneek. Most are right on the Ijsselmeer. Perfect pivot location for this as it has lots of accommodations.

We came to Sneek for an event and enjoyed our stay.
We came to Sneek for an event and enjoyed our stay. We left our car in the hotel car park and used our bicycles to get around and found everything easy to get to, with a wide range of amenities, something for everyone. And Sneek is an attractive historic town that seems at ease with the present day with an eye to the future. I'd live in a town like this!
The room was very large, and the staff were super friendly. Booking.com doesn't recognise a baby as a baby - if you try to add one to the room, it only allows you to add an extra room. So we excluded the baby. When we arrived at the hotel, the price was more than Booking.com said, and we were told this was because of our 11-month-old daughter. We'd brought our own travel cot, though, and so the next morning the manager refunded the extra bit. He was super nice about it, and then he gave our daughter one of the logo stuffed animals.
We decided to stay an extra night, but only a lesser room available than I had paid for , and we did not want to hve to pack up and move in the morning
The very kind receptionist found us a room for two nights with an upgrade for the second, it was much appreciated
Our room was in a new section of this large hotel, quiet, very well equipped, bed excellent
Able to walk long paths in countryside from hotel and town close
people are friendly there and both the breakfast and dinner there are great! It's convenient to be in the centre of the town. I enjoyed the city walk alone, which is not far away from the hotel. Also, thanks for the information provided by the staff, i rented a bicycle in a very nice shop. The room is neat and clean.
Very spacious room with a huge kitchen and fridge. There was enough room to dance around in if we so desired and the bed was very comfortable.
Everything was very clean and the staff was super friendly, albeit a bit busy. You notice nothing of the sounds of the restaurant or the restaurant guests.
Perfect location to start some tours. Nice breakfast and a nice place to chill out at evening at the Havencafe. Rooms are very nice equipped and staff is extremely friendly. We also could rent there some bikes. By bike it’s just 15 minutes to city center of Sneek. We will come back 😊.
This location is so unique and is in close proximity to all the action of Sneek but still feels quiet and private. The building is so special as it used to house a plant store. It's still filled with big, beautiful tropical plants that give it such a cool feeling.
it was the second time i've been to the hotel and in fact the same room. So I knew, what to expect. The hotel and ites surroundings are one of the most scenic places, right opposite the cities landmark and a lovely place with much character itself.
perfect city for a weekend trip, lovely hotel, right in the city center
beds are comfy and design of the room is simple and modern. most important, it is clean and neat
they have cool bar downstair as well
