Great apartment on the top floor; only stayed one night but would be a great place for longer stay; walking distance from coffee shops and restaurants.

Monchique Springs is a small village a few minute drive from Monchique town. It's much nicer than the town, which seems quite neglected. In contrast Monchique Spa is green, beautiful, well kept and much more interesting with an air of a spa in Switzerland, or England. A must to see!

A beautiful Roman Spa town set high in the hills above the Algarve; the hotel we stayed in was part of the spa which has been bought by an ambitious hotelier who has yet to improve all the buildings to a satisfactory standard. The signage at the hotel is woeful we spent the first two hours of our visit completely lost. If the entrance to the guest parking is down the side of a factory which it is, tell people rather than leave them driving around confused

Monchique is a pretty little town in the mountains, with quiet cobbled streets, boutique shops and wonderful cafes. The new Velochique Cafe is amazing. The area is dotted with incredible trails for walking and cycling and is a great place to stay for a quiet night but still close enough to the Algarve to visit during the day. Silves is a wonderful nearby historic town with an 11th century fort and more wonderful shops and restaurants. Monchique has a good mid sized supermarket that caters for all your needs too. And there are some good local restuarants.

Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Monchique was lovely and there is a good supermarket for self caterers. Had the best food at Vintage in the centre. Foia just up the hill was perfect for views. Brilliant stop for the race track at Portimao.

Monchique in august is a quiet, little, hilly town, a good start location for visiting activities in the surroundings: hiking, karting, kayakking (Lagos), visiting castles and so on. The houses are either nicely painted infresh colors or the y are in a bad shape and locked. In the town and also around it, are multiple trails to walk/hike.
Quinta do Tempo is a wonderful location in the Serra de Monchique, in the forest but near the beaches of Portimão, Lagos and Aljezur. This is the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature and explore Algarve. The property is a well restored traditional house, surrounded by a beautiful garden. The hosts, Jorge and Laura, are very welcoming, and kept in touch with us before and during our stay. This is certainly one of the places that we have enjoyed the most in Portugal, due to the property, the hosts and the location. We will certainly come back!
Incredible location just a few minutes walk from the town center, beautiful views over the town and surrounding hills, massive bonus of a stove and lots of firewood for the chilly evenings, really quick response from the host and he facilitated an early check in for us, spacious apartment and well equipped kitchen with nice touches like tea and biscuits, salt, pepper, oil etc. for cooking. We really enjoyed a few days chilling out here and wondering around the beautiful town of Monchique, would recommend this place to anyone!
Everything, very kind and helpful staff, comfortable and cozy beds, the tipi has perfect insulation, each tipi has its own independent bathroom, which by the way its better than some hotel bathrooms. It has a shared space equipped with an electric grill, a shared freezer and many tables and chairs. It also has a cafeteria. The cherry on the top, Parque da Mina has enclosed spaces with animals that you can feed.
All in all, this is one of the best establishment of this kind we have ever been to.
Thank you everything.
One of the nicest hotel / guest house experiences I have had - we were road cycling around the Algarve and stayed the night after riding up the Foia mountain road. The views and sunset from the terrasse and lounge windows were incredible. The food for dinner and breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the owners were so friendly and helpful. This is the sort of place you can really relax and probably want to stay more than you booked for. Would really recommend and will hopefully come back.
We received a warm and friendly welcome from Michel, who made sure we were satisfied with our room. He arranged for us to use the open air jacuzzi and reserved a table for us at a nearby restaurant for dinner. The following morning he arranged at short notice a wonderful nature walk near Monchique followed by a massage. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him!
The view from the room, the breakfast, and the general ambience of the hotel and its gardens were all very good.
We really enjoyed staying at Monchique Spa and Resort, we had a one bedroom unit, which was very spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the facilities. We did not eat in the restaurant but did in the mezzanine bar, and the food was delicious. The breakfast is varied also. I treated myself to a facial with Paula in the spa area, which I very much enjoyed. Paula is very caring and knowledgeable in the fields she is trained in.
The guesthouse is a perfect place to relax and disconnect as it is remote in the mountains. But within a short drive you can discover the city of Monchique. A lot of outside areas to relax, nice pool area with beautiful view. Daniela and João are lovely hosts, always ready to help. Would love to come back here for another stay.
A beautiful view, friendly staff, nice breakfast, comfortable beds, two bathrooms in one suite. There was a well- equipped kitchenette. There's a bus stop next to the hotel but you will need to walk uphill for quite a bit to reach the reception
We had a very pleasant stay..
The location felt remote but it was so accessible to town and many hiking destinations. The hotel and farm were restorative for the soul. The tiny details really made it special - from fresh flowers to toys for our son to play with - we appreciated it all.
Beautiful complex of new and older renovated buildings. Our room were in a new structure overlooking the pool and terraced hillside. Very comfortable and dog friendly. The spa was amazing. I spent an hour in the pool with the Monchique water.
The location of this dreamlike B&B is wonderful. Tucked away in the quiet valley of Monchique, it is a complete change of scenery after coming from the coast. Katinka is a wonderful host and provided a delicious home made breakfast.
A lovely decorated house on a hill looking down on Caldas de Monchique. Lots of nooks and crannies in the chalet itself- including a stone basement with a fine pool table. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in Monchique at this Chalet.
Very friendly staff. Very beautiful territory. Good breakfast. And in the evening you can have dinner at the restaurant, very good cuisine.
It was a feel, that we were not in a hotel, but visit our Portugal friends.
Amazing breakfast, helpful hosts and an incredible view. From the night skies to the ocean, a breathtaking place. Quiet and roomy space to sleep, with fresh figs growing just outside the hotel.
The location is lovely and the room and bathroom was big and comfortable. The hotel is located in a lovely quiet spot. The staff were helpful, polite and efficient.
