I liked the most the nature, there are many trees within the city and around, you can hear birds everywhere. The houses, the roofs, the streets were nice. Quaint little town nestled in the hills.
Quaint little town nestled in the hills. Plenty of museums to visit, always some events and festivals going on. There are a lot of artificial lakes around and options for walking and hiking. We always go without a car and the place is compact enough to visit by public transport and on foot. I have been returning to Banská Štiavnica for years, this was my 10th visit and I will probably never get enough of its cute narrow streets, beautiful houses, the city landscape offering amazing views and cute places (coffees, restaurants) where you can get refreshed after day in the city or in the nature. And it is super close to the beautiful nature, there are many lovely places one can visit over and over. It is definitely a must see when you visit this part of Slovakia.LuciaSlovakia - 10Scored 10

The historical center is really nice to walk through.
The historical center is really nice to walk through. Not very big in size, but rich in sights and differently styled cafes, which I really enjoyed. Other than that, you can visit Kalvaria, which is located on the hill outside of the center. The fact, that it's being currently renovated and the strong history of the place makes it a really plesent sight to see. Especially when you are religious. For romantic people, or for those who want to know about the longest love poem in the world, you can visit the love bank. It tells a true story from few centuries ago, at the place where it happened, about strong love and obstacles that come with it. You can even store your love story in the bank. I would say the city has many things to offer to get you back for another time.

Communication with the hotel was excellent, and our welcome was warm and friendly. The hotel is totally unique, and an old building where every corner has interesting features and furniture. The long walk up the wooden stairs is wonderful. The room was light, warm, comfortable, and huge. The bed was very comfortable and views over the city. Location is also perfect. There is nothing I would change, I just recommend this place

The breakfast had a variety of warm and cold choices, hearty and sweet. The restaurant offers very tasty dishes at reasonable prices. We had salmon, chicken breast “cordon bleu” and Wiener schnitzel. All three recommended!

The library is very good and atractive cleaners take really good care with cleaning. And generally Banska Stiavnica is/ was really nice place to walk around and enjoy scenery.
