The gardens were exquisite! morning walks were an adventure. i highly recommend! (the name of the hotel suits it) waking up in the morning to the songs of the birds was an orchestra of joy.
the rooms were big and spacious and had everything we needed and more, we were spoiled with chocolates and wine, which was another lovely touch.
The staff were very friendly. It's a perfect location, close to Swazi Candles and Yebo Art Gallery with lovely gardens and small shops. You can find hottest chilly sauce in the one of the shops - The breakfast was excellent.
Both the single beds in my room was very poor - sponse mattresses that were well born. The heater was not working (making a terrible noise) and both the bedside lights (mounted on the wall) was not working.

The customer service by both the staff and the owner was one of the worst I have ever experienced.
There was no power or internet the day I arrived. Also, heads up: this place is self-catering but they only tell you that after you book and pay.
I was offered a meal and wine free of charge so I accepted as it was complimentary. Then, I was told the next morning I must pay for something I only took because it was free. I asked to speak to the owner who hung up on me and refused to answer the call like a child because I was upset.
Also, you most definitely cannot swim in that pool.
The place is beautiful and has potential but between the false advertising (this isn't even in Malkerns so why is it called that?!), rude and apathetic staff, and the backend charges... I would never stay here again.
A real shame. Grateful for the only other people (locals) who were there who saw how horrible I was treated and offered me a ride to another accommodation the following morning

It is a very small town with many interesting places to visit. Places of interest include Swazi Candles, Malandelas (which famously hosts the bushfire festival), Summerfields botanical gardens etc. are all a short distance away.

The pineapple centre of Eswatini!
The pineapple centre of Eswatini! A great place to explore the Malkerns and Ezulwini Valley. Recommend staying in a couple of different places in to get the most out of a visit.
Visit the fantastic Mantenga Cultural Village (about 15/20 minutes drive from the Malkerns, and the candle centre with its craft stalls and Swazi Candles. Also visit Mlilwane Reserve - about 10/15mins drive away. A stay of 2-3 nights is just about right. I would recommed hiring a car, it's the best way to get around, as public transport is very limited. Watch out for the livestock that wander across the road.
