First, I made a trip out to the car around 2 am, and my card would not let me back in. I had to wake my husband up to open the door. We went through 6 cards and still the cards only worked once. The gal at the desk determined it was the battery and she assured us it would be fixed during the day while we were out. The problem was or ice chest was still in the room and now the door would not open at all, so we were forced to leave our ice chest and buy a new one. We get back to hotel, and we cannot get in our room, again. The gal at the desk for the night shift, was not aware of the issue as we could not get in our room AGAIN! We are tired and brought food from a restaurant and could not get in our room. We were forced to move rooms to the second floor, and guess what, the elevator is out of order. when we got in that room there were mens socks and under shirt on the floor. Bed sheets looked like they were slept in. rust in the tub. Had we not been so tired and our home a long drive, we would have left that night. Close to Sargeant & Matagorda beaches and of course my family! Booking.com site I will not use again because I screenshotted the booking page that said the room was refundable but when I went to cancel it to go back to Comfort, it was definitely not refundable. Buyer beware!

I wrote a scathing review- under the impression, I was writing for an OYO hotel that I had recently stayed at. So my evaluation of the Baycity Hotel was NOT correct, and I apologize. If the reviewer looked at the photos, they could tell its not the same property, as the pictures all show RED exterior - where the super 8 in Baycity is tan/gold color.

Bay city is a small town with small city charm.
Bay city is a small town with small city charm. We were in town for a family reunion but would’ve liked more time to explore it. There were historic buildings in the center of town that housed several local businesses. We had great coffee at Mainstreet Coffee and Wine Bar which was yummy.

She was amazing! As well as the cleaning staff. The dryer was not working and Sharon offered the hotels dryer for FREE! If I needed more towels staff right away got me more towels. This is definitely a nice place to stay at. When we come to texas again on vacation I will be booking here! Walmart was close by, so many stores close by, walking distance! I loved that as well!

They have went in and pulled the carpet up in rooms and put down wood grain tile and replaced all the tubs. The rooms come with a coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, ironing board, iron and a hair dryer. Very quiet and peaceful.
