Jefferson and Caddo Lake are a wonderful place to visit.
Jefferson and Caddo Lake are a wonderful place to visit. There is a lot of Texas history to see in a short time. The annual spring festival is great. They had a real civil war battle reenactment. 4 historic homes were available for touring along with Jay Gould's private rail car. There are many unique places to eat and shop. I was particularly fond of the fudge shop and the Blackburn's Jelly store where items were half of what I can by them for at home. There were also many more choices like Cherry-Blueberry and Huckleberry.

Cute small town with lots of historical homes, antique shops, and tourist shops. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday Had limited choices for restaurants. Everything closes early.
It was pretty dead on Sunday at 7:30 during North Texas spring break.

We rode on the historic train ride and got to watch them feed the alligators which we enjoyed, and did the Turning Basin Bayou boat tour and Shaggy our captain was very knowledgeable about the history and made it so interesting. Also went to Lonesome Dove Safari and enjoyed feeding the animals and riding the little train. Also went to the general store and had an ice cream cone and went to the state park and wildlife refuge. We ate dinner at Don Juans Mexican restaurant. Food was great and so was my margaritas! Waitresses were very nice. It was a great weekend trip!

I like it’s history and beautiful houses. But at this time of year not much is open during the week. But everyone is friendly and helpful.
The BBQ is very good, Roma’s was also.
It is very walkable so you don’t have to worry about parking.

I like the town of Jefferson and have been there several times. I live less than an hour away, so I do not always stay overnight, but when I do, I always stay at the Steamboat Inn. The present owners were new to me, but they could not have been any friendlier or more accommodating. We arrived to find a beautiful fire burning in a firepit in front of the wide front porch (complete with rockers), and we were welcomed and offered cookies and a glass of wine. The room was furnished with antiques including a comfortable bed and a fireplace, Although I don't know if the fireplace was a working fireplace (as we did not use it), it still helped to create a lovely room. The bath was sparkling clean and had a rain shower and a deep antique tub. The breakfast was excellent, and the company of the host, hostess and other guests was a pleasurable start to a fine day. I definitely recommend the Steamboat Inn in Jefferson and hope the present owners will be there for many years to come.
The Steamboat Inn was a beautiful place to stay; I had stayed there many years ago under a previous owner and this visit was even better. We had a great breakfast and enjoyed meeting, talking with and getting to know our hosts. Our room was very comfortable and the home baked goodies and beverages provided in the afternoon were appreciated. This location is walking distance to the downtown area of Jefferson and we will definitely stay here again.
The Steamboat Inn is the most extraordinary hotel that I've come across as a well-traveled swiss journalist in recent years. The rooms in the Victorian-style guest house are lovingly furnished, from the breakfast table to the four-poster bed.
I will never forget my hostess Lana and will certainly return to the Steamboat Inn!
The manager was very involved with keeping us comfortable regarding the temperature of the hotel . She also made sure we had a coffee maker for the morning since it does not come automatically with the room and we are early risers. and look for breakfast before their usual breakfast schedule.
The breakfast was absolutely incredible. It was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had! The staff were VERY nice and accommodating. Loved the outdoor area with the fire pit and s'mores kit, and of course the complimentary wine and coffee available! :) Jefferson is a very cool town.
David and Tammy go the extra mile to ensure that your stay meets, or exceeds your expectations. They really went above and beyond making us happy at breakfast.
We highly recommend this B&B for your stay in Jefferson. The room and bathroom were very clean!
Affordable! Comfortable bed, short drive from historic downtown. Furnishings comfortable though dated. I liked the pretty shear curtains under effective blackout shades. Owner accommodated our request for a quieter room on the hotel backside.
The breakfast was really great and the host was able to sit and chat with me for a few minutes. The entire place was very quaint. Exactly what I imagine a bed and breakfast to be. The whole town of Jefferson was adorable.
The Hotel was nice and clean.
The owner, Kim went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to ensure a smooth check in even after hours.
The hotel is located in a save and very pretty town.
Breakfast was wonderful!
Room was quaint.
Area very pleasant, very close to everything we wanted to do in Jefferson.
