There is a bit of Gentrifying going on in depressed areas which is nice. I love that the port is so close by. Riverboat rides are a big plus. All the people I interacted with were very very kind. We cooked and ate our meals in our rental. There is a huge area of all kinds of shops nearby. Kroger market place, Michaels, Target and Ulta were the ones we shopped at. It was easy to get around in thanks to our GPS. Going over to Cincinnati was a bit hard our gps had us going in circles. Its complicated. We did not go to the Aquarium this time, we opted for the Zoo since we have been to the aquarium a lot before. We would probably do all of our touristy things in Newport since it was such a pain driving over the bridge into Cincinnati. We live close enough to do day visits but wanted to try staying over a couple days this time. I want to do more exploring in the Newport area.

Lots of places to eat when they are open.

Lots of places to eat when they are open. We went to a Reds game Tuesday night and ate before the game, but after the game, there was nothing open except for a couple of dive bars when nasty bar food. We stayed Tuesday night and went to the Wednesday afternoon game. There was nothing open for breakfast. Game started at 12:30 pm but most places opened around 4pm, a few at noon, but nothing for breakfast. We found a great place just north of the Stadium on 4th Street called Wild Eggs. Well worth the two block walk.

Staff is unaware of Covid policy and provides incorrect information. Manager is rarely available to discuss the above issue and hides behind the staff. Result is poor communication and poor customer service. I travel frequently in my business and have never written a poor review, but this couldn’t be ignored. My associate had Covid and they refused to accept his home Covid positive test. There’s no written policy explaining they want a test w/ a certificate (which ONLY one testing company provides, TeleHealth) so they kept his $335 and refuse to even let him reschedule.

Newport is a very charming town if a bit difficult to navigate. The downtown area is filled with historic architecture. Gentrification runs wild but the result is a ton of amenities, shopping, bars, and restaurants.

It’s close to a great Mexican restaurant Cancun.

It’s close to a great Mexican restaurant Cancun. This room was dirty. I walked barefoot on the carpet and my feet were black when I went to put my shoes on. I had to wash them even though I took a shower. Came home and took another shower. The bath mat was stained bad. So gross! I will never stay there again.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Other visitors were friendly as well! The hotel has a beautiful location along the river. Walked over to the big liquor store that was fun to browse all the different kinds they carry. There was a distillery right there also. Starbucks and 2 really great restaurants are within 40 feet of the hotel! Loved watching the activity on the river!

The breakfast was very good and the staff kept it well-stocked. The location is good. I wish it was a little closer to the aquarium, but I did like that you could take the dollar shuttle bus over to Cincinnati and back and it was outside of the hotel. The staff was really nice and and helpful when I ask questions.
