We were just passing through and looking for a clean comfortable place to get a good night sleep and a decent breakfast before continuing our trip. The room met our expectations but the breakfast was the worst that I've had in a long time. They had a poor selection and didn't have glasses of forks. People were using waffle measuring cups for their drinks. I asked a staff member if she could get us some forks and she was very rude. All she would say is we don't have forks. I would recommend staying here if you don't plan on staying for breakfast. Also, check your credit card to make sure that you are being charged the rate the you agreed on when booking the room. I was overcharged approximately $40. Fortunately, I noticed this and was able to get the charge changed.

The Marriott was very convenient to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, the reason for our visit was my husband’s heart surgery. The restaurant was great and met our dinner needs, but breakfast was too early to take advantage of. I lived in Roanoke 56 years ago, Much had changed, but folks were still friendly and helpful. Thanks Roanoke

We initially came for a three night stay. My husband had a heart attack the first night so he went to the hospital and I stayed for five nights.
They were very helpful and accommodating under the circumstances. They let me move to a larger room when my daughter joined me. Let me add/subtract nights on short notice. Gave me a medical discount . I could not have asked for better support. Thank you . I will stay there whenever we visit Roanoke.

This was a last minute, let's get somewhere to sleep, kind of stay.
The hotel was very nice and clean, and a great price from Booking.com. Next time we'll plan on adding a day to see some sights and get a good meal.

We live in a nearby town.
We live in a nearby town. And make several trips a week to Roanoke. Often wish we lived there to save the commute (But then we like our own house too much). There is plenty of great food and entertainment in Roanoke. We like Atlanta and Dallas too, but on a smaller scale Roanoke competes well and is WAY WAY WAY less hassle. Pick up a copy of the Roanoker for lots of tips on food and entertainment. We always take guests to the Mill Mountain Star and the Train Museum.

Roanoke has the best of both worlds.
Roanoke has the best of both worlds. You can be downtown and experience wonderful restaurants and boutiques, or you can go up to Mill Mountain and visit a Zoo or the famous Star!! They also have the river so you can do things on the water. There are many trails throughout the city.
Absolutely loved our time here. Our hosts Chris and Janet were welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure we had a comfortable and pleasant stay. Our room was perfect and breakfast was absolutely the most filling, delicious and healthy breakfast we've had at a B&B ever. Everything on the plate was farm to table and the variety and combination of flavors and foods were mouthwatering and visually appealing. We will definitely stay here again if we're in Roanoke.
It is a two-story house plus laundry room in the basement. The house is very clean, newly renovated, and well decorated. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances. Everything is well thought of for the guests to stay comfortably. It is conveniently located, 5 mins to downtown Roanoke, easy access to river trail. One of the best specialty coffee shops (RND) is right across the street. Service is great. The staff is very responsive.
Just travelling through on route to Florida…gentleman at the counter was very nice and welcoming. Room was so quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was fine…not sure what most people complain about…there was enough to fill a stomach. Toast, cereal, eggs, yogurt, fruit, waffles etc. Paying so little for the hotel…dont complain when there is not a big selection!!!! If you want to eat big…spend the extra money on a more expensive hotel.
Hotel, staff, room, facilities, location. Everything was perfect. Even the 9 bucks for parking was reasonable. Bed was super comfy and the shower was excellent. Bang in the middle of downtown Roanoke so close to everything. Staff were incredibly nice. Hotel itself was very classy, very unique. I highly recommend the transport museum round the corner if you're into that kind of thing. I could have stayed there all day.
The location was very convenient for where we were going in/around Roanoke, the staff were absolutely lovely and so kind. The entire building was very clean and the beds were sooooo comfy. We were there on a weekend and so the breakfast spread was quite large with a variety of hot and cold foods (including waffles, which are always the best at hotels in my opinion).
I don't get luxury experiences very often and was at this hotel solely because my daughter's thought it looked like a castle and love hotels. The staff was super kind and patient. My daughter's had a great time and everything we had from the kitchen was fantastic. They are extremely picky eaters. It was an experience on its own
We stayed there only one night, the review will be somewhat limited. The hotel is reconstructing and not yet completely finished. The room was nice.
Also good to mention is that there is a nice bar/taphouse! They even serve some food. Not very common in the US.
Great friendly staff! At the frontdesk as well as at the bar.
Nice new hotel, near almost everything in Roanoke. Spacious, clean room had everything we needed and expected. The beds were super comfy and the sheets were so soft.
Front desk staff was friendly and professional. They made several recommendations for places to see, eat which added value to our visit.
The room was very spacious (big bathroom, big bed, ...). Because of the space, the room felt quite empty and impersonal, but I personally like that a lot for this type of hotels.
WiFi connection was very good.
I also liked sitting in the reception area during the evening to do some work.
The hotel is also a showroom of the Scandinavian furniture that is made there in Roanoke Va. as well as the rooms all furnished beautifully with the same. The refurbished Firehouse is fantastic.
The restaurant is excellent. A small menu of Scandinavian cuisine. It’s all a great experience.
I liked everything about the place and the staff. Very clean. Excellent staff. Great amenities. Very safe. Great parking. I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Close proximity and within walking distance to lots of places. Absolutely recommend this hotel if you are ever in Roanoke.
Gorgeous lodge overlooking the mountains. Owners take pride in their lodge and grounds. We had a great night sleep and wish we had not been passing through the area. We're glad we decided to stay here over a hotel in Roanoke!
We truly loved the location in relationship to the city of Roanoke. Also, the room was very spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast food was excellent and the hosts were very accommodating. It felt like a home away from home.
Breakfast location very good, food and selections not nearly as good. tub and shower were cramped and bathroom was very limited in space. tub floor was very slippery and cramped.
Hotel was clean, good location, free decent coffee all day, good size room, very quiet, convenient parking, right next door to a great Mexican restaurant
