I traveled from Las Vegas Nevada to Van Buren to watch the total solar eclipse. The motel 6 was expensive at $180 a night, but less expensive than hotels closer to centerline. The accommodations were fair, clean, but Spartan. Decent for an overnight stay.

This hotel is located in the heart of Ft. Smith and made it easy to access the things that we wanted to do while in town. Parking was easy at the garage across the street as the lot onsite was full. Room was large and comfortable.

Breakfast options were good, good location with other restaurants around close, cozy beds
Took the train ride to Winslow which was great fun.
Took the train ride to Winslow which was great fun. Van Buren's downtown area has places to eat and shops to buy from which is a plus. However, one of my favorite things was the free trolley ride around the downtown area.

Van Buren is like a city that forgot how to be a city.
Van Buren is like a city that forgot how to be a city. Vacancies abound in the downtown, streets not very clean at all, "Old Town" just barely occupied, parks lacking charm. The residents seem to be plodding, rather unfriendly. Sorry to be such a wet blanket on Van Buren...it's redeeming grace is that it's a very convenient stopping point for a long south to north driving trip.

Great little Italian restaurant there.
Great little Italian restaurant there. Accommodations were welcome, but not at all a reflection of the expensive price. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but basic. The amenities were scarce. Not much soap. Staff was knowledgeable of the area's restaurants and was helpful to steer us to the kind of food we were wanting. Great location. Easy on/off Interstate ramps. If you didn't want the usual motel breakfast, McDonald's was close and a gas station was conveniently near.
Arrived after midnight, after driving 11 hours in heavy rain, was very exhausted, drove into the parking, and there, close to the door was a reserved parking space for veterans, did I say empty space...... at 73 years of age, it was a appreciated sight. Used it for the four days I was there, hotel, was quite, comfortable, breakfast wasn’t to my liking, so we went elsewhere for breakfast, no problem,
Great location and well lit. This is the cleanest Comfort Inn I’ve ever stayed in! WONDERFUL! The staff was great, bed so comfortable and a great shower. Breakfast was fair, but everything else was fantastic!
Convenient location right on I-40, perfect for a one night stand during a business trip. The Colton’s restaurant is just few steps away from the hotel which was a pleasant bonus.
I think for the price the room was absolutely exceptional. I slept better than I usually do, everything was comfortable and it look nice, the nicest Motel 6 I've ever been in.
Got what we were expecting based on the price. Hotel reeked of Marijuana but otherwise decent enough for one night. Quick uber ride to a really pretty downtown area.
