The staff is really friendly and the hotel was very clean. It’s located right in the center, but still very quiet to sleep. There is a free mini bar with soda’s and chocolate snacks, nice towels and a bathrobe and slippers for the sauna. The bed was also comfortable. We enjoyed our stay!

Hotel Klenkes is centrally located just 10 minutes’ walk from Aachen Cathedral and the city’s historic town centre. The hotel offers modern rooms and free WiFi throughout. Our host was great! She was quick to tell us that there are three major reasons to visit Aachen. The first is printen, a sweet, chewy, gingerbread-y cookie. We already had them on our list, but she was so insistent that we buy ours at the bakery around the corner from our hotel that we did. And we were glad! Second is the streusel brotchen (little bread, or roll.) So we bought a chocolate one and split it. It’s a good thing they don’t sell these in Madison. The third thing was the cathedral, but it was clear she thinks it’s a distant third. Our apartment was spacious, with a daybed for a third visitor. The kitchen was functional and the bathroom had a lovely rain shower head and a hand-held wand, too. All this and a VERY short walk from the train station!
