There felt like there was plenty of space with various different pool areas and beach areas with different vibes. If you want music there is a pool with swim up bar or if you want quiet there is one closer to reception. There were lots of support staff including security which made it feel safe and well maintained. The adult only side of the resort buildings seemed relatively new and really well maintained.

From the check-in till check-out! We had the VIP treatment for we booked the suites. For a slightly higher price you receive soooo much more comfort!! Highly highly recommended! Ary was our guest relationship manager and he truly made our stay super special! What a great person he is! Jewel Palm Beach can be proud of having such a great, funny, caring and helpful person in the company! ARY, thank you again!!! The food was very good, especially at the Japanese (thanks Fabio!!) and the Mexican restaurant! Also Two Palms steakhouse had nice food and a great waiter team! A special shout out to Carolyn (“Carolina Carolina!”) she was amazing! The beach was kept clean nicely, the rooms were very well cleaned!! The overall staff was friendly and the entertainment was nice! The acrobats and silent disco were great fun!

Before we chose a hotel for our honeymoon I did tremendous research about hotels in Punta Cana that match our budget. Catalonia resort is absolutely beautiful and I'm completely satisfied with my choice. Nature, facilities, decorations, restaurants, pool, beach, everything looks very nice. The staff is super nice and helpful. Receptionists, cleaning room ladies, help desk, restaurant staff, everybody are trying to help you as much as they can. Our room (privilege) was nice, spacious, clean (clean sheets, clean bathroom, clean floor - and they were cleaning it everyday) and well equipped (clean towels - everyday, coffee maker, mini fridge - restored everyday, AC, TV, toiletries). Room service is also functioning impeccably. Hotel facilities - beach, pool, bars, restaurants were also very nice. There was plenty of space for everyone. We were able to find sunbeds or space in the restaurant everyday without any problems. The most negative comments I found before travelling was about food. I honestly don't get it. The food was really nice, there was a lot of variety (everyday), and for 10 days I never ate the same twice. For people commenting bad about food - really?? What are you eating at home? Are Michelin star chefs cooking for you?! The food was delicious and fresh... Lots of choices, both international and local Dominican. Also, I see a lot of people commenting about loud evening activities. Again, I don't think that's rational considering that most of these activities are over until midnight (at latest). So you'd have plenty of time for relaxation and sleeping. My overall experience is super nice and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
