Historical site (Mandela’s house during his presidential years, beautifully renovatex). super exciting to get to stay there and see all of the carefully curated pieces of art around Nelson Mandela’s life and history. Easy to get cabs and uber around it. Very comfortable beds, AMAZING food and bar. Super friendly staff. Simply surreal experience, can’t recommend it enough!

Houghton Place is located in Johannesburg and offers modern and luxurious accommodation. Free WiFi access is available. The property has a lovely garden and outdoor pool. Fantastic location, great hosts, cute dog and gorgeous breakfast. Hosts were so welcoming and helpful.

Located in Houghton, The Residence is a boutique hotel that offers spacious suites with a spa bath, and a balcony overlooking the garden, the tennis court or the outdoor pool. We had two fabulous nights in a beautiful spa suite in this superb hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - Moses being particularly attentive and helpful, and we loved the food: the excellent buffet breakfast including fresh oysters and dinner with a great menu served in a cosy restaurant with the talented in-house pianist adding to the ambience.

I also loved the attention to detail, the communication from them was also top notch. They paid attention to detail from the smell, how clean it was, providing a steamer, leaving a little shower gel for us, leaving a coffee, all cleaning equipment. In short I didn’t lack for anything
