A lot of effort has gone into this property and it shows. We stayed in room 12. Absolutely beautiful. We are staying here again this weekend.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Abbey Court Guest House is a guest house set in a historic building in Carlisle, 38 km from Askham Hall. Great place. Really enjoyed the facilities and hosts who were very kind and helpful. The room had a great design and atmosphere. Breakfast was very generous. We highly recommend.

Overlooking picturesque hills, Meadowcroft Country Guesthouse is a family-run guest house in the tranquil Village of Ings, 2 miles from Windermere. There is free Wi-Fi in the bedrooms. Very nice and cosy room with kettle, tea and coffee. Debbie (the host) is very lovely lady, and it was really nice chatting to her every morning. The breakfast is delicious and freshly made. The location is very good as it is close to the main road and easy to navigate around. The bus stop is also nearby which is perfect as at times it is easier to just take the bus instead of a car.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Lovely hotel with large room, comfortable bed and nicely-appointed, spacious bathroom. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff, as well as free parking.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels. Great place, super location, superb beds, breakfast was excellent

Jerichos is a contemporary family-run guest house with stylish decor situated on a quiet side street in the heart of Windermere village. There is free Wi-Fi and free ample private parking. Excellent accommodation, smart, clean and great hosts/staff. Very central and accessible from the train station too, although it has its own private parking - a real plus. Very good breakfast, with probably the best bacon rolls (amongst many other options) that we've ever had! We will return for sure. Fully recommended.

Just 1 mile from Lake Windermere this beautiful Victorian house is set in a peaceful location between Windermere and Bowness. Rooms were small, but very clean and comfortable. The staff and the breakfast were both excellent.

Craig Walk Suite is set in Bowness-on-Windermere, 38 km from Derwentwater, 43 km from Askham Hall, as well as 50 km from Trough of Bowland. Large room with kitchen. Loved having cold water in the fridge as well as welcome cookies, coffee and teas.

The Old Rectory features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Coniston, 18 km from Lake Windermere. Such a lovely house in the middle of the countryside. Incredible calm and such a warm welcome.
