The jungle trek is lead by Rosit aka the magician! Just like Bryan, he has real love for the jungle and its animals. He's a great team of guides working together for Thomas Leaf. On top of that, Rosit can show you magic tricks, love his enthusiasm. You can also do a tour in the area to see how Tempeh, Tofu and Brown Sugar are made and you will stop at a some other places with the nice guidance of Ponido (sorry if the name is not totally correct 😅). I can really recommend it!

We have loved our stay with Robert & his family SO much. There’s no lie in the name; it has the most amazing view on the ocean, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful sunset with a cold Bintang. We had an amazing traditional dinner (some of the best food we tasted in West-Sumatra) & felt so welcomed by the whole family. We fell in love with Rocky, the house dog, who will guide you on any walk & find his way back when you decide to take a coffee break :) Stayed for 6 nights, Could not recommend more! THE BEST!

Offrant une vue sur la montagne, le Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa est situé à Bukit Lawang. We like to travel a lot and for sure this is one of the best places we have ever visited. Situated next to the river with the most beautiful views. All the persons working here made our stay very special, making music at night and playing cardgames with the kids. The food also was delicious. We did three different excursions (village tour, jungle trek for 2 days and bat cave) and everything was very well organized. Also from the moment you make the reservation, there is a very good contact with the host for all your questions. We definitely want to return one day.

The hosts, Jujun and Borja are very kind and helpful persons. At the end, it was a bit sad to say goodbye to them. The room was very comfortable, we had everything what we needed. It has a big terrace, big enogh to do yoga or just relax comfortably. Their kitchen is very good, breakfast and dinner are available, but they also made lunch for us the day when we arrived and was very hungry. There are just a few bungalows, it's really cosy and private.

Notre hôte nous a proposé de nous récupérer dans le centre de Medan et de nous amener à l'aéroport le lendemain pour un bon prix. Elle était très accueillante, nous a préparé à manger alors qu'on arrivait tard le soir et était très gentille. La chambre était confortable.

Let me stay in a slightly more expensive room inside without paying the difference and got a ride back to the guesthouse from the city center at night. I wasn’t there for long but definitely felt it was a good deal for the price. It is pretty far from the center of butik lawang. You can walk it in 20min or get a tuktuk for 30rp. The walk is nice. You get to see another side to the area.

The guest house is located by a fast paced river. Families come to enjoy the swimming there and the place is full of laughter . Bukit Lawang is an idyllic village with cafes and small shops on riverside. I was travelling solo but was always finding myself in company. Butra, Maya and Juni made me feel most welcome. Great breakfast was always there when needed 😀.

La dame propose également la location de vélos et des scooters. Elle est vraiment très prévenante et c’était super agréable.
