Words could not describe how amazing was our experience. Since we arrived, Bryan welcomed us with a very big smile and kindness. The food, the location, the room, everything was perfect and way beyond our expectations. The jungle trekking with the staff of Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey was anonther level of perfection. Rachid and Gunawan were more than professional and helpful during the whole trip, big thanks to them. The trek was wonderful, the food also was so delicious , the lunch and the dinner in the camp where we had a special member of the team who cooked for us traditional dishes. We highly recommend both the guesthouse and the trip in the jungle with this super team. Thank you a lot for this lifetime memorable experience.

Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa ligger i Bukit Lawang och har en trädgård, en terrass, en restaurang och en bar. Boendet erbjuder rumsservice och gratis WiFi. Ellie helped us to organise a trip in Sumatra from getting picked up at the airport to being dropped off, including activities such as jungle tour, elephant washing, lake toba, etc. Not only was she very professional during the organisation but she was also available all along in case something happened! Upon arrival at the discovery villa, we were greeted by Tyson and a delicious watermelon juice, while he walked us through the planning of the next couple days. Every guide we had was very knowledgeable ( Dany walked us through the jungle, he stopped often to show us some plants and of course the various monkeys/ orangutans) and always seemed very happy! The food was very diverse and delicious, especially the juices😋 The whole trip felt like pure holidays, we did something everyday but never felt rushed or stressed as the guides were usually flexible! Everything was absolutely amazing, we would definitely recommend staying there and take contact if there is any special requests, they are always happy to help their hosts!! We will hopefully be back one day!

SeaGate Bungalows ligger precis stranden i Sabang och har en trädgård och en egen strand. Det finns en terrass och gäster har tillgång till gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. The Place was amazing. Great value for money. The room has a sea view, it is very quiet, comfortable, clean and you have a fridge, desk and drinking water in the room. Wifi works well and I could work and take online meetings with no problem. The food prepared at the restaurant is some of the best I have eaten in Indonesia. Because of Ramadan food options needed to be arranged in advance but the host cooked for us during lunch also because on the island there would have been very limited options otherwise. The best thing is the reef right in front of the property that is basically your backyard. Beautiful snorkeling you can stay in the water for hours. They arranged for us a pick up and drop off at the ferry port and also a scooter rental at a reasonable price.

Juma cottages ligger i Tuk Tuk och erbjuder boende med trädgård, terrass och restaurang. På Juma cottages är alla rum utrustade med balkong. Scene is very beautiful.quite place.staff is good

Kaesa Homestay ligger i Berastagi, 25 km från Mount Sinabung, och erbjuder boende med tillgång till en trädgård med en terrass. Kaesa is an amazing host - we received a warm welcome, a detailled map of the city and nearby attractions and answers to all our questions. He basically organized our itinerary for the 1st day in Berastagi and recommended great restaurants and coffee shops - we couldn't have done it better. We have also booked the sunrise volcano tour with his son (totally recommended, we loved it!) and transport to Lake Toba with a private taxi. The upstairs room has great views from the shared terrace and some chairs to sit outside. Everything was clean and there was hot water in the bathroom. For breakfast, inlcuded in the price, you can choose noodles or rice or some eggs - all super tasty :)

Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys ligger i Bukit Lawang och har en trädgård, en gemensam lounge, en terrass och en restaurang. Bland de olika faciliteterna på detta boende finns en bar och grillmöjligheter. The location is a perfect base for jungle trekking but the best thing is the incredible staff and the amazing food. I’m genuinely sad to leave and it feels like I’m leaving my home. Everyone works so hard to make it a fabulous experience. Smiley's Homestay ligger i Berastagi och erbjuder boende inom 24 km från Mount Sinabung. Det finns gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Väldigt härliga värdar som visade runt mig i området och erbjöd god frukost på morgonen. Sen var även sängarna väldigt bekväma och man bodde nära centrala Berastagi.

Fun Family Guest House n Jungle Tour ligger i Bukit Lawang. Detta pensionat med 2 stjärnor har ett gemensamt kök och bagageförvaring. Gästerna kan njuta av utsikten över floden. The room supplied the basics plus a mosquito net and was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and I was never too hot. The tour was astounding. Although there is no guarantee to see animals, it’s almost certain that you will. I saw 10 orangutans on the first day of my two day one night trek, including two completely wild ones which are difficult to find. I also saw many other species of mammals including the white gibbon and pig tailed monkey. Another rare find was a very large tortoise. The hotel owner and tour guide is very generous and welcoming, makes sure you are looked after and comfortable, and ensures a good time. This is the tour guide that you want. He is the one who guides the park rangers. He will take you to locations other tourists don’t go and you will spend the first night in a location away from the other camps that has a waterfall and very nice pool in the river to reward yourself with after a long hot trek. I highly recommend this hotel and tour guide. You will not regret it. If you have the time and money, definitely choose to do the longer treks. The guide/hotel owner also helped set up my transportation to and from Bukit Lawang and helped me plan the rest of my trip.

Walur Surf Villa ligger i Krui, en kort bit från Walur strand, och erbjuder boende med gratis WiFi, luftkonditionering och tillgång till en trädgård med en terrass. This was an awesome place to stay, it’s clean and simple in a great location. However, what sets this villa apart is the owner, Frenki. He is very kind and is able to help you with anything you need. He organized us car rides, scooter rentals, and visa extensions. During our stay we got sick, he took us to the doctor and helped us get antibiotics. At the hospital my brother needed stitches, he dropped everything to come right away to help us. Night after night he showed us great local places to eat. Frenki really cares about his guests and wants them to enjoy krui. I would highly recommend staying here!
