I love guesthouses/bnbs/hotels like this: a great location that gives you a sense of actual neighborhood life where you are visiting, incredible aesthetics and attention to detail, chill vibes coming and going like you rented an apartment without all the pomp and circumstance of a formal hotel. Also, being on the 505 trolley was so convenient, I could take it into the city and transfer to the subway or take it out to West Dundas/Bloor and get the UP express train to/from the airport. Plus Dundas Street ended up being my fav commercial stretch versus the parallel drags like College or Queen Street. Also, I had the room that overlooked the street, that window is awesome, and the thumps of the trolley car as it passes sounds like heartbeats. 1000% will be staying here again if I end up in Toronto another time.

Set in a restored jailhouse, this Ottawa hostel is adjacent to the Ottawa Convention Centre and Rideau Centre Mall. It features rooms with free Wi-Fi and serves a daily continental breakfast. Excellent location. Good food. Nice staff.

The hostel is both clean and aesthetic. The staff are absolutely lovely and make sure you are comfortable. The bathrooms are great with individual shower rooms. This was the best place I could have hoped to stay at in Thunder Bay.

The hostel is well looked after, and clearly cleaned regularly. I was pleasantly surprised by the showers - well above hostels I've stayed in previously! The staff were all lovely, and were also exceptionally good at making pancakes in the morning. The location is great for exploring the city.

Situated in Toronto, within less than 1 km of Rogers Centre and a 15-minute walk of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The Clarence Park features a terrace. Much better than expected, excellent location downtown. Would definitely stay here again. Facilities were great and people were friendly

The Only Backpacker's Inn is within 110 metres from Donlands Subway Station, in the Danforth area. It features free Wi-Fi access, shared BBQ facilities and an on-site cafe-bar/restaurant. The staff and the bar downstairs.
