Simple but nicely decorated rooms, cosy living area and huge kitchen. Free tea, instant coffee and sugar. Bring your own spices, oil etc if you want to do some cooking. Instant soup, lasagne and pizza available at the reception. Do not miss the walled garden restaurant and the Applecross Inn for lunch/dinner. Beautiful walks and cycling options around the hostel. I would definitely stay here again.

On Scotland’s far west coast, The Mission Bunkhouse in Mallaig offers simple hostel accommodation right opposite the train station and seconds from the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal. Couldn't be in a better location, it's just a very short walk from the ferry and even less from the station and town centre. I was made to feel very welcome. Arriving early, I was able to leave my bags there and go for lunch in one of Mallaig 's very nice cafés. The kitchen is fully equipped and there's a very good lounge to sit and relax in. I'll be very happy returning here on my next visit.

Excellent hostel in a beautiful old building, super clean and feels updates inside. Staff were very helpful and would go out of their way for the guests, though they are fairly consistent about the times the shop and meal stations open (would have liked the shop to be open a bit more, the meal station was understandable). Beds were comfy, in private room. Shared bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Dinner (we had burger/fries and curry) was great after a long day's hike on the GGW, Breakfast was sufficient for the day's hike with hot or cold only options (the hot option was rather nice). They also have a self cook kitchen and a small store where one can buy some food to cook and for the trail. Fairly good access to the trail, though it's a slight walk along a busy road, would be better if they can get a direct connector into their backyard. Laundry room was great to have. We also had a friendly rooster who liked to hang out with the guests. it's really an example of why hostels are such great fun to stay at.
