Located in a historic prison complex, they had an exhibit on the ground level explaining the history of the complex and how it worked.There were restaurants and a cafe close by. Cool little shops as well. Lift is handy if you're coming with heavy bags or suitcases. The room and bathroom was big enough. It was super clean. The beds were comfortable. They kept little features of the jail cell like the switches and the button to open the cell door with which was a nice touch. The staff were efficient and friendly with checking us in and out. They also gave good tips on places to see and where to eat.

En 27 km lang kystlinje med hvid sand, et smukt klitlandskab og maleriske landsbyer - Ameland i et nutskal. Der tilbydes gratis WiFi på Sier aan Zee. Location was excellent! 5 minutes walk to the beach and in the other direction 5 minutes walk to the forest. Kids loved feeding the ducks at the nearby nursery. Island itself is lovely and distances between villages are easily manageable by bike.

Surfana Beach camping hostel Bed & Breakfast Vlieland ligger i Vlieland, 300 m fra Vlieland Strand, og tilbyder indkvartering ved stranden og forskellige faciliteter, såsom have. We stayed 11 people in the bunk bed cabin and were very comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpfull. They organised a bbq dinner that was included and had loads of table games, games to bring to the beach and surf/sup gear. Would come back again. Also, it is directly at the beach and there was a service to get our bags from the ferry to the surf camp, so we didn't have to carry them!

Very friendly staff and exceptional good rooms and breakfast for a simple "Herberg". The man at the check in was so nice, he even offered us a second room with no extra charge!
