This 16th century Engadine mansion is nestled in a pretty hamlet, in a pastoral setting, and offers antique furniture, lovely bedrooms and quality in every detail. The hotel, built in 1590, was originally a farmhouse owned by the Moeli family from Italy. Later, the home was bought by the aristocratic Von Salis family. The noble heritage of the building can be seen today in its metre-thick walls, handsome craftsmanship, beautiful wood panelling, outstanding paintings, handsome beamed and frescoed ceilings and colourful ceramic fireplaces. The reception area features handsome antiques, and the hotel's rooms and public spaces are traditionally furnished.

Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.2 for a two-person trip.

I really loved the hospitality. I arrived very late and an arrangement for a taxi to puck me up from the station was made. They above and beyond and also ensure issues I incurred with the taxi driver were resolved.

The Inn was rustic and charming. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The lobby area and sitting room were lovely and inviting. The hotel was close to trails and within easy walking distance to the train station. We all loved...

Everything about this place was amazing. It's like living in a ginger bread house. Beds and pillows are super soft and comfortable. Decor authentic and interesting.

Property information

Moments of happiness at CHESA SALIS We are situated in the historic village centre of Bever, where time seems to stand still since a hundred years. The B&B Chesa Salis is a secret spot in between old houses built from the 16th century onwards. It is set away from the main road and barely visible. Our guests appreciate our hotel's peaceful location, the large garden, the nature and the proximity to a thousand and one leisure opportunities in the Engadine.

Neighbourhood information

Some of the highlights nearby: The fairytale trail from Bever to Spinas. At the end of the trail, the Spinas guest house serves specialities from the Engadine. And for the journey home, you can hire a coach and horses or take the train back to Bever. In Samedan, Zuoz and St. Moritz golf courses are located, which are just a few minutes' drive. Walking, cycling, horseback riding, Yoga and other activities can all be enjoyed within the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
