The Campanile Tower
It might mean a workout, but it’s worth the climb to reach the top of Giotto’s Campanile – from the top, you get the Florentine panoramas seen in city postcards. At the same dizzying height as the hulking dome of Florence Cathedral, you can take your time and gaze down across the terra-cotta rooftops below.

No use going to Florence and not climbing to the top of the Duomo. The inside of the church itself is not very impressive, but it´s worth every penny to purchase the ticket (directly from the Catedral de Santa Maria - site) to schedule your visit up to the Duomo, and all the other parts outside and around the Catedral. Even the tower is included. The wait in line to go up with tickets is short because it´s at scheduled times - The tower line is a little longer, but sitll worth it. It´s 400 steps to cimb up to the Duomo - but the view is absolutelly worth it. The tower has less stairs, but in my opinion, the Duomo was much nicer to visit. The top of the bell tower is as if you´re in a cage. The Catedral with all the colored marbel is a sight to see.

I am so surprised that we only had to queue for 15-20 minutes, not 2 hours like was mentioned in the many blogs I had read prior to my visit. The Duomo is worth the queue under the summer's sun. No entry ticket into the Duomo unless you want to go up Giotto's bell tower, baptistry and the dome.
Be modestly dressed- no beachwear for both sexes, no exposed shoulders and elbows for women. I saw a few tourists being turned away for not being appropriately dressed. It was a total waste of their time queuing, only to be turned away at the doorway.

The building itself is glorious of course, but I want to give the WARNING to not buy tickets from this place https://grandemuseodelduomo.waf.it/en/cumulative-ticket-great-museum-of-the-cathedral-of-florence. Yes, it is official site, but it operates like scam scheme probably because it is badly managed. We bought the tickets on this website to avoid queues in ticket office (but the queue in ticket office is not that bad actually). We waited for couple of hours to tickets to be emailed but with no results we went to official ticket office (in museo del Duomo) to ask for help. We were assisted by very unpleasant woman who kept saying that she cant help and it tells on the purchase website that the ticket will be emailed within 3 days! Which is complete nonsense because it allows to choose today's date for the visit. We asked for refund and she said that tickets are not refundable. Then she put the closed sign in front of our faces and left the till. We were really shocked with this kind of service and we heard another colleague of her's commenting in Italian that 'these stupid tourists don't understand'. Very very poor service and bad representation of this beautiful city. We are trying to get our money back through bank now, because we think its nonsense to sell tickets for the day, but they would be valid just in 3 days from the purchase :/

• The bathroom was big enough and clean.
• The was free water in the hall.
Massimo was friendly, attentive, and informative. He checked in on us and made sure we had everything we need. Location was perfect - we walked to most of our destinations (Ponte Vecchio, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Uffizi Gallery, Accademia Gallery). Short bus ride from the train station.
The location and view are truly unbeatable. Having access to the terrace with a front and center view of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is truly unbeatable.
You're a block away from the main square. Easy access to train station.
Niccolo met us and showed us the apartment. He also gave FANTASTIC recommendations (from a local) for the best pizza, gelato, and the ever so important Florentine steak.
