Zulu Rock Game Park was incredible. From the beautifully appointed room with stunning view, super comfortable bed, great and spacious bathroom to the amazing 5 star delicious food and again amazing views from the dining room and outdoor deck, we were so pleased to have chosen this particular reserve. Then the staff, they were so friendly, approachable and in particular our Ranger Sbu was so knowledgable and he knew exactly where to find so many animals. We realised how lucky we were that within 24 hrs we'd seen 3 (elephants, lions and buffalo) out of the big 5, plus additional animals such as jackal, ostrich, wart hog, zebra, buck, impala, kudu, giraffe!

The view is amazing, the location is great, the house is very clean and cozy with all you need. Diana has been so sweet and helpful! I strongly suggest this beautiful place!

Lions Valley Lodge is situated within the Nambiti Private Game Reserve, home to the Big Five as well as antelope and an abundant birdlife. The lodge features an infinity pool and free WiFi. My friend and I loved everything about the this lodge, especially the food. All meals were glorious and very delicious with very generous portions! Kudos to the chefs! We enjoyed everything that we had. The staff members were absolutely friendly, always willing to assist, a pleasure to be with and they made our stay wholesome and comfortable! Stay shining team ❤️ All rooms were clean and fresh. Well done to the cleaners and maintenance team. The game drives were very fun and very informative/educational. They were fantastic! We had a short break in between our drive, in the bushes with drinks and snacks (the ranger usually stopped at the safest place with beautiful views). Stefan was our ranger/guid and he was incredible. He loves his job and he's very knowledgeable about the environment and animals. He shared a lot of interesting facts about the different types of animals that we saw. We saw lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, rhinos, buffaloes, kudus (just to name a few) and many more as well as the different kinds of birds. This place has really made me appreciate nature more.

Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. Jacuzzi was perfect to cool down in on hot days, sitting out on the deck listening to the river and nature around us is wxactly what we needed!

Perched on top of a hill, Umzolozolo Private Safari Lodge is situated in the malaria-free Nambiti Big 5 Private Game Reserve. It boasts a rim flow pool overlooking a valley. We were extremely happy with the food, ambience and especially the staff! Our ranger Siya is very professional and knows a lot about the surroundings and animals. We always felt safe and were just overall happy with our stay at the Umzolozolo Lodge.

Nambiti Plains offers accommodation within the malaria-free Nambiti Big 5 Game Reserve. It boasts accommodation with panoramic views of the open plains. All meals and game drives were excellent

Birches Cottage & the Willows Garden Room is situated on a gravel road, 5 km from the vilage of Underberg. The estate offers nature trails, riverside pools, picnic spots, decks and viewing areas. Lots of information provided before arrival and then when we got there.

Located 27 km from Ladysmith, Cheetah Ridge Lodge is situated within the Big 5 Nambiti Private Game Reserve, which boasts the Big 5 with a variety of other species and amazing birdlife. We were met by two very enthusiastic guides, Lesley and Ryan, who escorted us during our whole stay. They were extremely knowledgable, helpful and had a wonderful sense of humour. The room was fantastic; we could see wildlife from our veranda. During the drive, we always stopped for hot chocolate or other drinks. When we arrived back to our chalet, the staff had already made the fire, which was welcome in the wintery days. The food was top quality in terms of quantity and variation, and the staff were excellent. We saw almost all the animals during our stay and the only one we missed, some friends saw the following day. It is certainly well value for money. If you are driving from the south then it is well worth considering rather than driving up to Kruger if you don't have the time.
