Garni Hotel Wagnermigl ligger i Kuchls centrum, precis vid Tauernradweg (cykelled) och 20 km söder om Salzburg. I trädgården finns en solterrass och en lekplats för barn. WiFi är gratis. The rave reviews on this place are fully justified - the hotel is truly exceptional in every respect. Kuchl is a small, but very attractive village about 20 minutes by local train from the Salzburg HBF. I had been cross country skiing there many years ago, and when finding many hotels in Salzburg fully booked or over-priced, we decided to go to Kuchl, and I was impressed by the great reviews on Booking.com, and the hotel turned out to be even better than expected! A hotel of comparable quality in Salzburg would cost at least 5-times as much (and maybe even more). The hotel is attractive in the style of an Austrian village, and although in the valley of the Salzach River, it has amazing views of the high Alps that separate Austria and Germany. Ther are numerous opportunities for hikes in the region, from short easy walks to serious mountain climbing. However, the best thing about the hotel was the warm, welcoming, friendly staff who provide personal attention. Even though the hotel was not crowded, they provided a full, delicious Austrian breakfast with more options than even the most famous hotels in Austria. They recommended a great restaurant for dinner, which serves both excellent Austrian and Balkan cuisine. The room was reasonably spacious and well equipped, with a nice balcony overlooking the Alps. Furthermore, the hotel is a one minute walk from the train station, with local trains to and from Salzburg leaving every 30 minutes. Except for a few central hotels in Salzburg, it was almost as quick to get to the sites in this city as it is from many hotels in town. I have been to Austria many times, and the Wagnermigl and the town of Kuchl represent the best of traditional Austrian life and local color. I recommend it most enthusiastically!

Hotel Langwies ligger vid infarten till Bad Vigaun, 15 km från Salzburg. Hotellet har en spaavdelning och en baddamm. This was our favorite hotel across a 10-day holiday. The hotel is on a farm compound. Our children loved seeing the pigs, cows, goats, and other animals up close. We wished we had satiated another day! The hotel is new and comfortable. You feel like a guest at a nice home. The restaurant is exceptional. Would definitely recommend it. Everyone’s meal was exceptional, from the chicken nuggets for our youngest to the excellent jalapeño steak.

Located in the centre of Russbach, Hotel Kerschbaumer is just 400 metres from the cable car into the Dachstein-West Ski Area. It features a sauna and a fossil exhibition. Spacious and comfortable room, great spa area (that is free to use!), lovely staff, superb atmosphere inside and outside of the hotel and for a very good price! You can't go wrong with this choice!

NEUWIRT - Boutiquehotel & Wirtshaus ligger i kurorten Bad Vigaun, strax utanför motorväg A10 och bara 15 km från Salzburg. Här erbjuds gratis Wi-Fi och en traditionell österrikisk restaurang. The location is amazing!!! Bad Vigaun is an amazing place to stay in and have a great morning walk/jog or workout. The view from the room is breathtaking, you won't want to leave. The hotel design is unique, very elegant and luxurious. We stayed at the junior suite, it is big, has a great balcony to sit in and just enjoy the view. The staff a so helpful and welcoming. I like the close parking spaces just to go through the check-in process, though the regular parking lot is a few steps from the reception. Highly recommended!!

Detta traditionella hotell med anor från 1592 ligger på gågatan i Abtenau, 500 meter från skidområdet. Goldener Stern erbjuder rum med gratis Wi-Fi och gratis parkering. Allt var perfekt! Utmärkt läge på det lilla torget! Mycket trevlig familj och fin service! Mkt god frukost och god tre rätters middag! Lugn och vacker trädgård där man även kan bada i poolen/ dammen! Rekommenderas!

Endast 10 minuters promenad från centrum av Abtenau, ligger detta hotell med restaurang i direkt anslutning till dalstationen för linbanan till Karkogel. Beautiful setting and just a short walk from the city centre. Also loved the food. Staff was very helpful and professional.

Winterstellgut ligger i Annaberg im Lammertal, 40 km från Eisriesenwelt Werfen, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering, en terrass och en restaurang. If you ever find yourself in the area please do yourself a favor and book a room into this amazing place! The guesthouse is outstandigly beautiful the rooms are extra clean and spacious the views to the surrounding nature are to die for and the food is delicious. On top of that each and every member of the staff is very kind helpful and warm hearted people. Special mention to Dominik that welcomed us and made us feel at home. We cannot recommend this place enough! Its one of the best travel experiences we ever had!
