Lots of amenities for people who enjoy an active lifestyle. On the weekend I chose to stay in Winnipeg there were lots of activities happening in and around Winnipeg. I am a Canadian and have never been to Manitoba and it was a pleasant surprise when I finally made it there.
Went to the Royal Canadian Mint for a tour-fabulous time and very interesting. Winnipeg streets always under construction so very frustrating. Winnipeg drivers still some of the rudest I have experienced. So much for friendly Manitoba.
The history tour of Manitoba Legislative Building is worth the trip alone to Winnipeg. It free so please check it out. The Winnipeg Transit Authority has a free bus "Downtown Spirit" which will take it's passengers to not only this this attraction but many other attractions in Winnipeg. During the summer months consider taking the WaterBus from the Legislative Building to the Forks for a nominal fee.
Such a great time - however did not allow enough days to see what we wanted in our trip. We had two nights but three days of tourist attractions. Booked - 1. Canadian Mint tour - length was 1.5 hour 2. Western Canadian Aviation Museum 3. Hermatic Code - tour of the "Manitoba Legislative Building - tour was suppose to be 1.45 - and It was over 2 and a half hours.... Completely look at the "architecture" of this building and the Exchange District Shops and Buildings. 4. Museum f Man and Nature 5. Planetariium 6. Walked for 1.0 hours throughout the "Exchange District" of downtown - Portage and Main Street and the Concourse shopping Centre. 7. The Forks - shops and Union Station - Snacks and wine and beer tasting for 2.5 hours. 8. Winnipeg Goldeyes Base Ball Game with Family Members - had live entertainment before game and Finish with a spectacular 15 minutes of excellent "fireworks" at the end of the game. 9. Walked to the Museum of Human Rights Museum and did not have access as this was also closed as others at 5:00 p.m. simply not enough time to get to these place from 9:00 to 5:00 Ran out of time prior to getting on our return flight to Newfoundland
Beautiful vibrant city. Loved The Forks. Lots of history. Great restaurants. The Canadian Museum of Human Rights was amazing. Loved the Manitoba Museum and Oak Hammock Marsh. The people are very friendly. The streets are wide and easy to navigate
Brandon holds the Manitoba Rodeo Finals every year. A fun event to attend. The city has some nice restaurants and most of the regular amenities of a small city. We go every year.
We were on our way to Churchill to see the polar bears and did not really know what to expect. Great walking city, lots of history and very friendly locals. Took in a minor league hockey game -- Manitoba Moose -- and had a great time!
Most of the people were very very nice and friendly, bar a few. The weather was horrible, adding a sickly yellow hue to the environment of the already run down city. University of Manitoba was lovely. The forks was a great spot to hang around. Travelling around winnipeg is slightly difficult without your own car as buses are unpredictable with long waits. However, taxis wete cheap- costing approximately $1/hr.
I love Winnipeg and Manitoba. It seems the whole province provides many many things to do in the summer. Very family friendly and something for everybody to do or pdf.
Hotel was in a great location, rooms were clean and comfortable. We didn’t stay for the continental breakfast because we were running in the Manitoba marathon but we appreciated the hotel offering an earlier light breakfast for the runners.
clean, friendly, family hotel. good for female travellers. good parking. good access. love the wood floors, so much cleaner then carpet. it’s right across from the University of Manitoba
Clean and spacious apartment close to the Forks, Manitoba Museum and downtown. Bright, sunny room on a surprisingly quiet street and secure parking lot.
Kids loved the pool, enjoyed that there was the little waterslides as well. Hottub should be bigger for adults! Otherwise, fantastic stay. Will be back.
