I love the hotel’s location along the Verzasca River, the staff, the accommodations and the restaurant. Really, everything! A beautiful waterfall is located right next to the hotel…you can eat on the patio with the sound waterfall and the sight of the water. The river is directly across the street and the Ponte dei Salti bridge is in the immediate area…maybe 500 yards up the road. There are nice (and long) hiking trails, numerous rustic towns to visit, and the Verzasca Dam is just down the road. The hotel staff is very warm and inviting, and I was relieved to find they had an English speaker (actually, several) on staff.

From Davide and the staff who took great care of us, to the very clean and comfortable rooms, and finally to the great location in the middle of the Sonogno-Lavertezzo trail which was for great for us, as the weather was a bit unpredictable and it allowed us to adapt faster to the changing conditions. Thank you for the great (although too short) stay!

My room and bathroom was comfortable and had everything I need after day long excurcions, Location is really very good if you plane to explore Vale Verzasca. It is at the shore of Verzasca lake. It is beside the main (only) road of Versasca Valley but at night there is almost no traffic. at all. I am a very light sleeper and I always have earplugs with me but I did not use them. Day time it can be noisy but I went to Versasca Valley to hike not to sit in the hotel. I ate dinner in the hotel twice and liked both meals. Hotel al Lago is a great value for its price.

Lovely food in the restaurant next door. Welcoming host, very helpful. Beautiful location, peaceful with stunning views! Would definitely recommend!
